Wheeler Parker earns honors

Brent Wheeler Parker of Warwick, whose major is History, has been named to the Dean’s List at Clemson University for the spring 2014 semester.

Alex Anzeredo earns honors

Alex Anthony Azeredo of Warwick was recently named to the King University Dean’s List for the spring semester 2014.

Local Salve Regina graduates

Warwick residents were among those awarded degrees during Salve Regina University’s recent 64th commencement.

Jennifer Edine was awarded a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Secondary Education & History cum laude. Edine received the Pell Medal for Excellence in U.S. History. She is a member of Chi Alpha Sigma national college athlete honor society, Delta Epsilon Sigma national scholastic honor society for students of Catholic colleges and universities, Phi Alpha Theta national history honor society, and Sigma Delta Pi national Spanish honor society.

Also graduating were: Kristen Hagerty, Master of Science in Healthcare Administration and Management; Edem Kuada, Makafui Kuada, and Casey Williams, Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Gregory Madancy, Bachelor of Science in Nursing RN-BS; Angela Myatt, Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies; Courtney Power, Master of Business Administration in Business Administration, and a Master of Science degree in Management; Morgan Smith, Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Smith received the American Institute of Chemists Award.

Warwick residents earn Bachelor degrees from Bryant

Warwick residents were among those graduating at Bryant University’s 151st Commencement on Saturday, May 17. The following Warwick residents received degrees: Ivan M. Antunes, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Marketing; Kaitlin A. Carvalho, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Marketing Cum Laude; Sebastian Isaias Castro, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Management; Joshua Michael DaRosa, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance; John David Drechsler, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Management; Kristen Marie Dyer, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting; Bruce Jordan Fisher-Messier, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance; Ryan Mason Martin, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting; and Jaclyn Noelle Tardiff, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Management Cum Laude.

Local students awarded Bryant graduate degrees

Bryant University held its Graduate School Commencement on Thursday, May 15. Among the graduates are the following area residents: Diandra Bliss Garabedian, Master of Business Administration; Anna Miniutti, Master of Business Administration with honors; Gerald Iadeluca Jr., Master of Science in Taxation with honors.

Earn UMass Dartmouth degrees

This year’s Undergraduate and Graduate Commencement Ceremonies held May 16 and 17 were celebrated at UMass Dartmouth Main Campus. Among those graduating were Tara Andersen-Serena Summa Cum Laude and Jared Kelly.

Earnshaw earns

Colby-Sawyer honors

Colby-Sawyer College has named Emily Earnshaw of Warwick to the Dean’s List for academic achievement during the 2014 spring semester. Earnshaw is majoring in Environmental Studies and is a member of the class of 2016.

3 named URI Coastal Fellows

The University of Rhode Island Coastal Fellows program is an environmental fellowship initiative designed to involve URI undergraduate students in addressing current environmental problems. Among the URI students from Warwick named to the Coastal Fellows for the summer of 2014 are: Nathan Andrews, Alexander Claros, and Amanda Rode.

Inducted into PC honor society

Three local Warwick students, Maureen Palmer, Sherri Tuner and Patricia Major, were inducted into Alpha Sigma Lambo, Providence College’s National Honor Society.

In URI Energy Fellows Program

Undergraduate Justin Venturini of the University of Rhode Island was selected to participate in the 2014 Energy Fellows Program. The program works with undergraduate and graduate students to address real world energy problems. Justin will be working with the Ocean State Clean Cities project.

Carlson earns honors

Caitlyn Carlson was named on Siena College’s Dean’s List for the fall 2013 semester.

Stonehill students volunteer abroad

Stonehill College’s H.O.P.E. Alternative Spring Break program sent two Warwick students abroad for the week of March 9. Connielyn Ramos went to the Dominican Republic to volunteer at Hogar del Nino, a center that tries to help children in need. Kerrin McKenny traveled to Peru to volunteer with the Yancana Huasy Project, which helps children with mental and physical challenges and their families.

Loparto earns honors

Warwick native Estlin Loparto was named to Plymouth State University’s Dean’s List for the fall 2013 semester.

WPI students study abroad

Three Warwick students, studying at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, recently finished an extensive research project abroad. Ellen Pierce finished her project, Digital Education Evaluation, in Melbourne. Zachary Blanchard completed his project, Marine Safety, in Puerto Rico. Lastly, John Nunes completed his project, titled Promoting Recycling of Electronic Waste, in Tirana, Spain.
