Fairfield University has announced that the following Warwick residents have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester: Robert Phillip, Allison Beattie, Molly Gregory, Brendan McNamara, and Matthew Peacock.

Kampper earns

degree from WGU

Meghan Kampper of Warwick has received her MBA, Healthcare Management from Western Governors University (WGU). The university held its 28th semi-annual commencement ceremony in Orlando on Feb. 7 and celebrated the graduation of more than 6,700 graduates.

Flaherty worked at

Habitat for Humanity

Brigid Flaherty, a resident of Warwick, and a member of the class of 2016 at Providence College, recently spent a week working with Habitat for Humanity as part of the College’s Campus Ministry program. Flaherty was among more than 130 Providence College students who volunteered to spend their spring break working at Habitat home sites in nine locations in the United States. Flaherty worked on a home project in Kittanning, PA.

Blanchard named WPI Student-Athlete of Week

Zachary Blanchard has been honored as the WPI Men’s Spring Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 22nd. Blanchard hit .714 in two games last week with six RBI and three runs scored as the Engineers won both contests. The senior third baseman smacked a first inning opposite field grand slam in WPI’s 17-7 home-opening victory over Johnson & Wales. Blanchard, who had three hits in the win over the Wildcats, added two more, including a first inning RBI double in WPI’s 11-4 triumph against Fitchburg State.

Huntoon performs

at PPAC

When three Roger Williams University students formed the a cappella group, Hawkward, in 2010, the singers never imagined they would perform for a crowd of 3,000 at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC). Yet, on Saturday, March 21, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Hawkward, now 20 members strong, including Holly Huntoon, a Roger Williams University student from Warwick, performed for some of Rhode Island’s biggest champions for the arts at PPAC.

Ferguson participates

in University Club

Jason Ferguson (’16) of Warwick participated in the Economics Club at Eastern Connecticut State University during the fall 2014 semester. Ferguson’s major is Business Administration. Students participating in clubs had an average GPA of 3.10, much higher than the 2.94 average for those students not taking part in any of the 73 clubs/organizations.
