Area residents graduate from Clemson
Two area residents graduated from Clemson University on May 11. They are Samantha Guyott Leahy of East Greenwich, who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and Ryan Frederick Schkoda of Warwick, who graduated with a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering.

Jenny Ley graduates from Trinity College
Jenny Ley of Warwick graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., on Sunday, May 20, majoring in Psychology. Ley minored in Community Action.

Jessica Dorney graduates from Saint Joseph's
Recently, Jessica Dorney of Warwick graduated from Saint Joseph's College of Maine with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science - Fitness Leadership.

Newton awarded St. Lawrence degree
Russell W. Newton of Warwick was among the 584 students awarded a degree at St. Lawrence University's Commencement ceremony, held May 20 on campus in Canton, N.Y. Newton was awarded a degree (magna cum laude) in Anthropology, with a minor in Sport Study/Exercise Science. Newton earned honors in Mathematics. Newton graduated from East Lyme High School.

Goodwin graduates from Scranton
Mollie R. Goodwin of Warwick graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in History on May 27 from Scranton University. Goodwin was also named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester.

Area students earn Sacred Heart honors
Bridgett Carter and Megan Holmes of Warwick made the Sacred Heart University Dean's List for the 2012 spring semester. To receive this honor, a student must achieve a 3.6 grade average, based on a 4.0 scale.

La Bella graduates from WPI
Antonia La Bella of Warwick was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering with distinction at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) on May 12.

Emily Brandenburg earns Mercer honors
Senior Emily Brandenburg of Warwick was named to the Dean's List of Mercer University's Townsend School of Music for the spring 2012 semester. Inclusion on this list requires students to meet rigorous grade-point-average standards for the Townsend School of Music.

Area students awarded Saint Michael’s College Book Award
The following Warwick high school students were awarded the 2012 Saint Michael's College Book Award for Academic Achievement with a Social Conscience: Corey Casale, a student at Pilgrim High School; Matthew Deneff, a student at Toll Gate High School; Julia Paolino, a student at Toll Gate High School; Napatsone Soupharath, a student at Warwick Veterans Memorial High School; Justin Thornton, a student at Warwick Veterans Memorial High School; and Kaorlyn Sundberg, a student at La Salle Academy. East Greenwich resident Edward Walsh, a student at the Prout School, was also a recipient. The award recognizes students who demonstrate a commitment to leadership in volunteer service and academic achievement.

Bryant students named to dean's list
The spring semester Dean's List at Bryant University includes the following Warwick residents: Ivan Antunes, a junior in Marketing; Claire Denault, a sophomore in International Business; Damien Ferreira, a sophomore in Accounting; James Lineberger, a senior in Finance; James Look, a senior in Finance; Stephanie Morse, a senior in Accounting; Dorothy Rivera-Perez, a senior in International Business and Marketing; Michael Schmitt, a senior in Accounting; and Erica Smith, a senior in Finance. East Greenwich students earning honors are: Alexa Fattore, a senior in Accounting, and Raymond Liu, a junior in Accounting.

Cocozza named to dean's list
Brittany Cocozza, daughter of Janet Cocozza of East Greenwich, was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Saint Michael's College. Cocozza is a May graduate and a Business Administration & Religious Studies major. Students who complete a minimum of 12 credits and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.4 at the end of a semester are recognized for their scholarship by inclusion on the Dean's List.
Cocozza graduated from Saint John’s University before coming to Saint Michael's.

PC awards Master degrees
Among the students who graduated at Providence College’s 94th commencement ceremony, the following Warwick residents were awarded Master degrees: Laurence Birmingham, MS in Education Administration; Mary Ann Dailey, MA in History; Meredith Garrity, MS in Special Education; Edward Medeiros, MS in Special Education; Joanna Nagelhout, MS in Guidance and Counselor Education; Kelley Tinaro, MS in Special Education.
East Greenwich residents that graduated with Masters are:
Samantha Cavanagh, MS in Guidance and Counselor Education; Cathy Gibney DiColo, MA in History; Dean Healey, MA in Mathematics; Jennalee Lopes, MS in Education Administration; and Diana Manalang, MS in Business Administration.
