The award-winning Spanish film “Butterfly” (1999), starring Fernando Fernán Gómez, will be shown when the Providence Latin American Film Festival comes to Warwick Public Library on Thursday, April 25 at 7 p.m.
Clever but frail 8-year-old Moncho is befriended by his kind and wise teacher Don Gregorio before both are swept up in the Spanish Civil War. Tony Aguilar, director of the Film Festival, will introduce the film. “Butterfly” is in Spanish with English subtitles and includes brief nudity.
