R.I. Kitchen and Bath, a residential design and remodeling firm specializing in kitchen, bath, and interior renovations, has joined Academic Advantage, a tutoring and enrichment service based in Warwick, to award a $500 college scholarship grant to Joely Centracchio. Joely is a 2016 graduate of Johnston Senior High School. She is the daughter of David and Judith Centracchio. Steve St. Onge, president of R.I. Kitchen and Bath, along with Rick Deutsch, executive director of Academic Advantage, presented the scholarship check to Joely at the R.I. Kitchen and Bath Showroom on Jefferson Boulevard in Warwick. “It’s encouraging to know there are students out there like Joely who exemplify high academic achievement while serving their community,” said St. Onge. “We are pleased to be able to participate with the Academic Advantage scholarship grant program and wish Joely much continued success at Boston College where she will major in Psychology.” Pictured (from left) are Tanya Donahue, vice president of sales at RI Kitchen & Bath, Joely and Rick Deutsch, Executive Director at Academic Advantage.

R.I. Kitchen and Bath deserves our patronage! When a Warwick business goes all out for our citizens, we should return the gesture with our loyalty. Forget going to the big stores with corporate offices in Georgia. Shop local. Shop at the store that is helping to educate Warwick's children. I am going to! Maybe we should have an award for businesses like theirs.Maybe it should be called "A Warwick Preferred Business." When a customer asks "Why?" it would give them the opportunity to brag about the scholarship they are sponsoring. That would certainly be a win-win situation costing the taxpayer nothing and helping the business stay in business (and in Warwick) and their added sales means added revenue for Warwick as well.
