Edward Geick, general manager of the Olive Garden in Warwick, has been presented with Darden Restaurants’ top honor – the Joe R. Lee Diamond Club Award, named after the company’s first chairman and CEO. Now in its 16th year, the award is presented annually to general managers throughout North America who demonstrate outstanding results by delighting guests with a genuine Italian dining experience while also achieving top financial performance in the company’s previous fiscal year. This is the second time Geick has received this recognition. “Edward is a passionate leader who inspires his team to provide an exceptional dining experience for each of our guests,” Dave George, president of Olive Garden, said in a statement. This year, Geick joins an elite group of 39 general managers selected from the more than 800 Olive Garden restaurants in North America, making this a truly exclusive honor. He was quick to praise his restaurant team as one of the keys to his success. “I am honored to receive a Diamond Club Award and attribute this success to the support of my restaurant team,” said Geick. “Together, we have a passion to make our guests happy, as if they were in our own homes – and we understand the true meaning of our purpose, ensuring 100 percent guest delight.” The Warwick Olive Garden is located at 31 Universal Blvd.
