After seeing the trailers a dozen times, Joyce decided to skip this one, so I sat in the large house at Warwick Showcase on a Friday night with hundreds of women who, judging by their laughter and cheers, would have given the movie five stars.
Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn play three housewives who reach their breaking point trying to keep up with their neighbors, husbands and kids. They go ballistic, to the delight of a most sympathetic audience.
It all comes down to the PTA election for president, where the bad moms let loose with their frustrations, only to be joined by the discerning members who realize that they share their issues and turn against their own leader. The audience was laughing so loud, I missed most of the lines.
If you ever thought you were a bad mom, you’ll want to see this movie. But let me warn you, the R-rated movie is filled with profanity and some “politically incorrect” lines and actions that some people may find offensive. That doesn’t include that Friday night audience.
