You’ve survived Black Friday and shopped your heart out on Cyber Monday, but nothing will compare to the feeling you’ll get after participating in #GivingTuesday.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State (BBBSOS), partnered with Barnes and Noble in Warwick, will be participating in Giving Tuesday for the 3rd year in a row.

“We are very excited to collaborate with Barnes and Noble again this year to spread awareness, have fun, and raise funds that will help give the gift of a mentoring to a child in need this holiday season,” said Tina Santos, Development and Communications manager at BBBSOS.

Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that will harness the collective power of a unique blend of partners – charities, families, businesses, and individuals – encouraging philanthropy and celebrating generosity worldwide. This special day of giving will be filled with a variety of fun and exciting activities that will ring in the holiday season while supporting youth mentoring throughout Rhode Island.

“Barnes & Noble Warwick is once again thrilled to host BBBS of the Ocean State for their Giving Back Tuesday Bookfair fundraiser. It is a wonderful opportunity to support the mentors and educational outreach that BBBS does throughout the state daily,” said Katie Rendine, Community Business Development Manager at Barnes & Noble Warwick. “Their work within our community is vital in enriching the lives and fostering the skills of our youth. Supporters that day can shop for the items they need while at the same time providing fundraising support to BBBS.”

Those interested in joining BBBSOS’s Giving Tuesday initiative can drop by on November 29 at Barnes and Noble at 1350 Bald Hill Road in Warwick from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. There will be live entertainment, book signings, storytelling, gift wrapping, crafts, and more. Author Kevin Mulhern will be in attendance to read and sign his children’s book Cody the Cloud at 3:30pm.

In addition, up to 20 percent of the total proceeds that day will go directly to BBBSOS programs providing mentors to the youth of Rhode Island who will motivate and empower them to make positive decisions, improve academic results, avoid risky behaviors and grow in a way that will positively impact your community. This is truly a special day that can make a big difference.
