BUTTONWOODS FISH & CHIPS: For home cooked food that will warm your soul this spring

Posted

It has been a long winter – cold, icy, gray, windy and wet. But now, there is a hint of spring in the air and people are finally beginning to emerge from their winter’s “hibernation” to meet again with friends and loved ones. There is no better place to gather with neighbors than at one of Warwick’s most popular “watering holes,” Buttonwoods Fish & Chips. Buttonwoods Fish & Chips is a cozy eatery located off the beaten trail in a quiet shopping plaza on Buttonwoods Avenue. It is one of those unusual places that reminds its patrons of the days when everyone knew their neighbors, and regularly saw them in the “village square”. Here, the food, service and atmosphere hearken back to a simpler time – when food was always fresh, every cup of coffee was served with a smile, and comfort was found in familiar faces . . . and familiar places. Buttonwoods offers all of this, and more.

Jackie and Tony Fiore have owned and operated this homey restaurant for ten years and over the course of those years, have built a base of devoted fans. Some of these fans have been coming since the Fiore’s first opened their doors, and many now even bring their own children here. There is something special and nostalgic about this place, a place that generations of diners return to time and time again.

Along with its welcoming ambiance and its friendly servers, what diners love most about Buttonwoods is its delicious and affordable food! Here, patrons always find a tantalizing menu of comfort foods to choose from, including their hot-off-the-grill breakfasts. Tony consistently prepares a mouth-watering selection of omelets, French toast, Belgium waffles, pancakes, breakfast meats and hash! There are muffins, bagels, oatmeal and home fries galore! Daily specials include such offerings as a bacon, asparagus, tomato, onion & cheddar cheese omelet, or chocolate chip and banana pancakes – all served with home fries, toast and coffee. Positively irresistible.

Lunch is just as enticing here with your favorite classic hot and cold sandwiches, crispy salads and tasty fish platters, including their popular Fish & Chips.

On Friday evenings, enjoy a large selection of American and Italian-style dishes that are rivaled only by your own Italian grandmother’s cooking. As always, only the freshest ingredients are used to create a truly home-cooked culinary experience.

Buttonwoods is BYOB, so don’t forget to bring along your favorite bottle of wine!
