Through August 15 all BankNewport and OceanPoint insurance agencies locations will be accepting non-perishable food donations.
During the summer, when children are out of school an additional strain is created on the budgets of low-income families who are already struggling to make ends meet. It is also a challenging time for local pantries, many of whom experience a drop-off in food donations. BankNewport and OPIA seek to help restock pantry shelves throughout Bristol County, Newport County, and in West Bay communities. Donations gathered during the two-week collection period will benefit the following ten food pantries:
Bank Newport’s Cranston branch on 875 Pontiac Avenue is collecting for the Saint Vincent de Paul Emergency Food Center.
The East Greenwich BankNewport on 1000 Division Street is collecting for the East Greenwich Interfaith Food Cupboard;
