Barbara E. (Linebarger) Maciel, age 80, of Edman Street, Warwick, died on January 22, 2014 at Kent County Hospital. She was the wife of the late Edward Maciel.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Luther E. and Madeline (Drew) Linebarger, she lived in Warwick for the last 39 years. Mrs. Maciel worked at Stop & Shop in the Meadowbrook Plaza in Warwick for over 12 years, retiring 5 years ago.
She is survived by seven children: Julia M. Creel of West Warwick, Elaine B. Maciel of Warwick, Edward Maciel of 29 Palms, California, Donna J. Maciel of Warwick, Anthony R. Maciel and his wife, Suncha of 29 Palms, Calif., Deborah J. Machado and her husband, Marco of Warwick, and Clifford C. Maciel of Warwick. She was the sister of James, Charles, George Thomas, Joel, Joseph, Virginia, Mollie, Marie, and June, and the late William, John, Luther and Michael. She also leaves her grandchildren, Jessica, Johnathan, Samantha, Sabrina, Ian, Chandler, and Chad, and her special adopted grandsons, Adam, Dylan, and Nicholas; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Justin A. Saba.
Her funeral was held on Saturday, January 25, from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 618 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick. Burial will be private. Kindly omit flowers. www.barrettandcotter.com
