Big boost from BJ’s

BJ’s Charitable Foundation recently distributed 46 grants to nonprofits surrounding BJ’s Wholesale Clubs that focus on hunger prevention, education, healthcare and self-sufficiency. The Rhode Island Mentoring Partnership, Inc. based in Warwick received a $7,500 grant. The Rhode Island Mentoring Partnership will use the funds to provide training, activity and reading materials, create mentor recruitment events and provide salaries for the Literacy Mentoring Program. As part of its quarterly grant cycle, BJ’s Charitable Foundation contributed $206,050 to support 46 nonprofits, all of which focus on hunger prevention, self-sufficiency, education or healthcare to help improve the communities surrounding BJ’s Clubs.
