Blue Cross open enrollment runs through June 15

The open enrollment period for purchasing health insurance directly from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) is currently in progress and will conclude on Friday, June 15. BCBSRI is the only insurer in Rhode Island to offer guaranteed coverage, regardless of health status or pre-existing conditions, during its annual open enrollment period.

Plans for individuals and families are available to any Rhode Islander, including domestic partners, who cannot get health insurance through an employer, Medicare or Medicaid. Individuals looking to enroll in BCBSRI’s Direct Pay plans will not be subject to medical underwriting.

BCBSRI now offers a revamped product line with a total of five plans for individuals and families and one dedicated option for individuals. This year’s plans include incentives for healthy living and a new Diminishing Deductible program designed to help members lower their annual deductibles.

For detailed information about open enrollment or to request an enrollment brochure, call (401) 351-BLUE (2583) or 1-800-505-BLUE, or visit BCBSRI.com.
