The Gaspee Days Committee continues celebrating 50 years of volunteers, parades and events with a look back. The Gaspee Days Committee will be hosting a 50th Anniversary Museum at the Aspray Boat House starting this Saturday. The nearby Pawtuxet Rangers Amory will also be open for the public to view the Rangers memorabilia.
The museum aims to encourage people to reminisce as well as learn about all the Gaspee Days Committee has done over the last 50 years. Old scrapbooks, photos, programs and posters will be on display. There will also be the 1772 newspaper reporting on the Burning of HMS Gaspee and the 1772 water pipe on loan from Providence Water. The Gaspee Days Committee encourages supporters to bring pictures and talk about their early Gaspee Days Parade memories.
The event is free and open to the public. The museum hours are May 30 and 31 from 1 to 4 p.m., June 6 and 7 from 1 to p.m. and June 2 and 9 from 5 to 8 p.m.
