An NCAA Recruiting Seminar open to parents and student-athletes will be held on Monday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bomb Squad Baseball Company in Wakefield.
The one-hour seminar is free of charge and will outline the college recruiting process. The seminar will serve to educate student-athletes and parents in an effort to better understand the complex world of college recruiting and allow them to make knowledgeable decisions.
The seminar will be led by Steve Breitbach, a former college player, coach and recruiting coordinator, who has extensive experience on both sides of the recruiting process.
The seminar will cover: NCAA clearinghouse, NCAA eligibility, NCAA recruiting rules, recruiting calendars, contact periods, evaluation periods, telephone, text, email, and in person communication, official & unofficial visits, rules of communicating with a college coach, important factors to consider when choosing a college, how to make college coaches aware of who you are, importance of academics – including eligibility requirements, letters of intent and what they mean, choosing the proper fit and a question and answer portion.
