On March 21, Traditional Martial Arts RI, located at 1099 Park Ave., held a very special board breaking session, dubbed “Board Fest for MS.” Students had spent the last six weeks selling martial arts “breaking boards” to their friends and families. In all, 347 boards were pre-sold and additional boards were bought that day for a total of 421 boards, which were broken by 19 students from Traditional Martial Arts. A total of $1,524.36, including proceeds from a raffle, was raised for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Contributors to the raffles included Salon Panache, Marchetti’s Restaurant, Texas Roadhouse, Blue Monkeey Hair Clips & Accessories and more. (Herald photos by Steve Popiel)
