Brennan’s Braces catches fire with two wins

Led by three hits apiece from Demitri Ayers, Tyler Yates and Andrew Merryfield and a home run by Collin Lemieux, Brennan’s defeated a short-handed DeGiulio Insurance team 17-1. Tyler Brunelle pitched three scoreless innings and Ryan Corrigan closed the game.

Brennan’s Braces 6, Sheridan Electric 2

A complete game pitched by Andrew Merryfield, highlighted by a three-pitch sixth inning gave Brennan’s Braces a big victory Monday night over previously unbeaten Sheridan Electric. Nathan Miller was 2-for-3 for Sheridan Electric in the loss.

Savage & Savage 13,

Sinapi Law 8

Monday’s victory was an entire team effort. Savage & Savage sent five different pitchers to the mound. Dylan Palumbo, Jack Hornstein, Nick Parent, Aidan Sullivan and John Procaccini all threw and combined for nine strikeouts. Savage & Savage was able to score 13 runs with patient at bats, heads-up base running and doubles by Ethan Asadorian, Stephen O’Neil and Nick Parent.

Leo’s Tire 10, Langevin’s Reps 6

Leo’s Tire’s Ethan Laramee broke open a tight game in the top of the fifth with a two-out, bases-loaded double to hand Langevin’s Reps its first loss on the season. Laramee had  three hits on the day, including two doubles. Anthony Berry and Colin Murphey each had two hits and an RBI and Gary Dombach Jr. drew four walks for Leo’s. Aaron Rastella led the Langevin squad with a triple and two walks.

VFW Post 183 10,

Coastway Credit Union 8

West Side’s VFW Post 183 continued interleague play with a victory over National’s Coastway Credit Union Monday night. Post 183 jumped to an early lead with big two-out hits from Mike Borges and Joe Gambardella. After Coastway made it 4-1, Dylan Bourret started a two-out charge that would lead to four more runs for Post 183. Borges had a two-run triple en route to a 3-for-3, four RBI night. Coastway came back to 8-4, but VFW Post got out of a bases-loaded jam when Matt Banspach hauled in a deep fly ball. Two runners scored in the sixth when Lucas Hemond legged out a ground ball, and pitcher Max Caracuzzo sealed the deal in the bottom of the sixth. Coastway turned a 6-4-3 double play for the defensive highlight of the night.

DeGiulio Insurance 12, Donelan’s 0

Anthony Blade scattered five hits and struck out eight batters over five innings in notching a shutout in his Major League debut, leading DeGiulio Insurance to a 12-0 win over Donelan’s. Pacing DeGiulio’s offense was Jake White, who was 3-for-3 with two doubles and a triple and six RBI, Danny Riccio, who was 2-for-2 with three runs scored, Ben Rindeikis, who was 2-for-2 with two RBI, and Henry Leclaire, who was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Aidan Moreira and Alex Henderson made fine defensive plays for DeGiulio’s to stem Donelan’s rallies early in the game. Donelan’s was led by Elias Fura, who was2-for-2, Chris Smith, who was 1-for-2 with two hard hit balls, and Matt Lynch, who played well in the field and at the plate. Dylan Gallagher stood out for Donelan’s as well with a very strong game behind the plate.
