Andrew Merryfield pitched a one-hit gem on Tuesday as Brennan’s Braces topped Langevin’s Reps 12-0 in an interleague battle of one-loss teams. The Brennan’s team jumped out in front early and never looked back, with triples by Collin Lemieux, Tyler Brunelle, and Demitri Ayers leading the way. Daniel Tanguay and Ryan Corrigan each had two hits. The Brennan’s victory avenges its earlier loss to Langevin’s, which now has two losses on the season.

Brennan’s 10,

DeGiulio Insurance 1

Tyler Brunelle pitched a complete game Saturday in a rain make-up. Both teams played with nine players. Brennan’s bats were hot with Brunelle and Andrew Merryfield getting four hits apiece, including an inside-the-park home run by Merryfield. DeGiulio was led by Danny Riccio, who was 2-for-3 with an outstanding catch in center field, and Jake White, who was 2-for-3 with a double that hit the top of the fence at Warwick National, and a stellar catch of a line drive up the middle late in the game.

Donelan’s 16,

Sinapi Law 3

Donelan’s pitcher Collin Driscoll had Sinapi Law off-balance all night, allowing only two earned runs for a complete game on only 50 pitches. Chris Smith of Donelan’s led a strong offensive effort by the whole team with a three-run inside-the park home run.

Savage & Savage 9,

VFW Post 8

On a beautiful Saturday night at Warwick National’s home field Savage & Savage edged out VFW. The first inning saw fireworks for both teams, but both pitchers were able to strand men on base. Savage & Savage led 3-2. The second and third innings were very quiet for both teams. After pitching a flawless inning in the second, VFW pitcher Max Caracuzzo pitched another strong inning in the third. Savage & Savage pitching countered with some strong innings as well. Then in the fourth inning, both teams broke out. VFW sent 11 men to the plate, scoring six runs to take the lead 8-3. Savage & Savage countered with three runs of its own, putting the score at 8-6 going into the fifth inning. VFW was unable to produce any runs in the fifth, but Savage & Savage scored three more to take the lead. Savage & Savage pitching then sealed the game with a strong performance in the sixth.

VFW Post 10,

Sheridan Electric 6

On a windy night, with storm clouds threatening, and rainbows on the horizon, VFW matched up against Sheridan Electric for the second time this season at Warwick American. In the first meeting, the VFW bats were silenced, but this time they broke out. Everyone on the team contributed with either a run or a hit for VFW. After the second inning the score was tied 4-4. Sheridan Electric got one in the top of the third to take the lead, but VFW fought back with four runs on Thane Denton’s grand slam to dead center in the bottom of the inning. Sheridan Electric threatened with one run in the fourth, but Mathew Zubrycki was able to shut down the offense with a perfect fifth and sixth inning.

Leo Tire 9, Coastway Credit Union 5

A solid pitching effort from Collin Murphy (five innings, eight strikeouts) and a big day at the plate from Jared Reminder and Gary Dombeck helped give Leo Tire the win against Warwick National’s Coastway Credit Union on Monday night. Leo started the scoring with an RBI single from Anthony Berry in the first.  Leo added three runs in the third on an RBI double from Reminder and a two-run home run over the center field fence by Dombeck. Coastway came right back and scored two to cut the lead in half. Leo put three more runs on the board in the fifth behind RBI singles from Murphy and Nick Kirejczyk. Coastway matched Leo by scoring three runs in the fifth before Reminder’s two-run double in the sixth gave Leo’s the lead for good at 9-5. Dombeck pitched a scoreless sixth to close the game.

Leo Tire 5, Donelan’s 3

Leo Tire came from behind to pull out a 5-3 victory over Donelan’s on Friday night. Leo struck first with Dante Wilding scoring on a wild pitch in the first inning. Donelan’s took the lead in the bottom of the third on an RBI single by Dylan Gallagher and a bases loaded walk from Collin Driscoll.  Wilding had an RBI double in the fifth to tie things up, but Gallagher gave the lead back to Donelan’s with an RBI groundout. In the sixth inning, Leo was able to grab the lead for good by taking advantage of some defensive miscues. Anthony Berry pitched a strong sixth inning to close out the game.
