Posted

Stephen Brunero has been appointed Executive Director of the Rhode Island Parent Information Network (RIPIN). He is responsible for all aspects of program management, outreach and communications, fundraising and development in assisting individuals, parents, families and children to achieve their goals for health, educational and socio-economic well being.

“I am excited for the opportunity to serve as RIPIN’s executive director,” Brunero said in a statement. “Having served families for many years as both an advocate and an administrator, I am eager to lead such an established and committed agency as RIPIN. I look forward to working with the dedicated staff, our collaborative partners and the community to serve families throughout the state and promote the mission of RIPIN.”

With over 36 years experience in state and human service programs, Brunero is ideally positioned to provide executive leadership and vision at RIPIN – connecting Rhode Island families and state and community partners in areas of specialized health care, education, information, training and advocacy. Prior to this position, he was employed as the associate director of community services for the Rhode Island Department of Human Services and as the administrator of all state and federal grant programs at the Office of Rehabilitation Services. Stephen also serves as an adjunct professor at Salve Regina University instructing history, law, principles, and ethics in Rehabilitation Counseling.

Kathleen DiChiara, RIPIN’s board chair, welcomed Stephen to the management team on Oct. 15.

“We feel fortunate to have found such a qualified new leader for RIPIN. We are confident that Stephen has the knowledge, passion and leadership skills to continue to carry out the agency’s mission of empowerment, education and support,” she said.

The Rhode Island Parent Information Network (RIPIN) is a statewide 501(c)(3), charitable, non-profit association. Since 1991, RIPIN has dedicated its resources and services to assist individuals, parents, families and children to achieve their goals for health, educational and socio-economic well-being by providing information, education, training, support and advocacy for person/family-centered care and systems change.
