Tri-City Elks

Zumba lessons will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6-7 p.m. Cost is $6 per person and the instructor is Lorraine Blanchard. Come burn off some calories while having fun doing it.

Flu Clinic

Warwick Ghost Tours

The Warwick Center for the Arts, 3259 Post Road, is bringing back the Warwick Ghost Tours Oct. 29. Join for a night of fun as paranormal investigators John Austin and Jaime Rogers lead groups through Warwick City Hall, which has been known to have paranormal activity. The main gallery will also be open with exciting raffle baskets, snacks, drinks and spooky readings. Tours will run at 7, 8 and 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 10 and under. Free Community Lunch

Trunk or Treat will be held Oct. 29 from 3-4 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 111 West Shore Road. Admission is $1. Don’t forget to wear your costumes.

Riverview Parade and Hayride

The Riverview Association Annual Parade And Hayride has changed the route for their Oct. 30 parade. To participate, arrive at 3:15 p.m. at the corner of Tidewater and River Vue. The parade begins at 3:30 p.m. Membership in the Association is $15 per family. Members are asked to bring a canned food item or toiletries to donate to St. Mark's Church.

Halloween Costume Bash Party

A Halloween Costume Bash Party will be held Oct. 30 at the Tri-City Elks, 1915 West Shore Road, from 1-4 p.m. There will be an ice cream social, pizza, cupcakes, cookies, s’mores by the firepit, a costume party with prizes, pin the boo on the ghost, witches ring toss, a scavenger hunt and face painting. Trunk or Treat

There will be a Trunk or Treat event in the Christ Church parking lot, 1025 Main St., East Greenwich, Oct. 30 from 5-7 p.m. It is free and open to the public. Kids should come in their Halloween costumes and then they can stop by cars decorated in various themes and receive candy, plus there will be a bouncy house, face painting, other games and treats.

Pumpkin Patch

The Pumpkin Patch will be open through Oct. 31 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 111 West Shore Road. Pumpkins will be sold Mondays through Fridays, 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturdays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Pumpkins sold by size. Major credit cards are accepted.

Trunk or Treat

Greenwood Fire Hall Company, 45 Kernick St., is holding a trunk or treat hosted by the New England Worship Center Oct. 31 at 6 p.m. This is a safe, fun and free alternative for the whole family.

Veterans Business Resource Fair 

A Veterans Business Resource Fair will be held Oct. 31 from 9-11 a.m. at RI Division of Veterans Affairs Headquarters, 560 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick. No registration is required. 20-Week Raffles

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 111 West Shore Road, is selling 20-week raffle tickets for $20. Drawings will be held weekly for $25 prize money with additional bonus drawings of $50, $100 and $500. Ocean State Toastmasters

Ocean State Toastmasters will hold its next meeting Nov. 1 from 7-9 p.m. at Warwick City Hall, 3275 Post Road. Regular meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The club is one of 13,500 in Toastmasters International, a nonprofit, educational organization devoted to the development of public speaking and leadership skills. Afternoon Tea

Bingo

Americana Doll Tea Party

An Americana Doll tea party, boutique and fun activities event is being held at Warwick Central Baptist Church, 3270 Post Road, Warwick, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The boutique will feature doll and child clothes, miscellaneous bed stuffs and furniture. Activities will include hairstyling and manicures for dolls and girls. Physical Fitness Training

A local non-profit will bring organized basketball, nutrition education and physical fitness training to 160-200 youth in Warwick. The program will run through Feb. 28, and players only pay a $25 fee for the entire season. They are a registered 501©3 non profit, and they are currently close to capacity. The Grange is a fraternal non-profit organization with a special interest in community service. Mentors develop a warm, supportive relationship while spending time with the new mom in their homes, accompanying them on outings and attending mom gatherings. Bonniedale Farm in North Scituate offers dog and cat food at no cost to struggling pet owners, hoping to provide for the animals while easing the burden on community members facing tough times. Fife and Drum Corps

The Kentish Guards Fife and Drum Corps rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. at the Kentish Guards Armory on Pierce St. in East Greenwich. Free lessons on playing the fife are provided to men and young men interested in joining the corps.

Evening Counseling Available

Help for Victims of Crime

Are you a victim of physical or sexual assault, domestic violence, untreated childhood abuse, or another crime or traumatic event? Are you experiencing depression, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, increased substance use or other emotional difficulties? Volunteers Needed to Sew

Looking for something to do to help foster kids? Organizers of The Sewing Project to Help Foster Kids are looking for volunteers who want to help sew pillowcase or duffel bags for foster children. Currently their belongings are sometimes put in black trash bags. Foster parent Adriane Grimaldi in Scottsdale, Ariz. started the Sewing Project in February 2008 for children taken from their homes by Child Protective Services (CPS) to make kid-friendly bags for carrying their belongings instead of trash bags. To date, people have made 6,700 pillowcase bags for foster kids Pillowcase bags are delivered to CPS to use instead of trash bags. The Sewing Project has opened a new Rhode Island Chapter working with the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) and is in need of volunteers to sew. Cornerstone Church

Domestic Abuse Support Groups

The Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center is a non-profit agency providing services to victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault. The agency offers morning and evening support groups for adults dealing with current or past domestic abuse Groups provide a safe place to talk with others who have shared similar experiences. Developmental Screening

The Child Outreach Department of the Warwick Public Schools, in cooperation with the Volunteers of Warwick schools (VOWS), conducts regular preschool screening clinics. All Warwick preschool children between the ages of 3 and 5 are offered the Early Screening Inventory-Revised (ESI-R). This is a free service provided by the Warwick Public Schools. Participation in a Developmental Screening is a long established program of the Warwick School Department that provides families with information about their child’s development and offers information about community resources.
