Conimicut Memorial Brick Ceremony
The Conimicut Village Association will host a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. Aug. 6 at the new Scenic Overlook at the end of Beach Ave. (at the intersection of Beach and Bellman Aves.). The ceremony will celebrate the installation of the first 50 memorial bricks that will line both sides of the pathway at the overlook. A neighborhood reception will immediately follow at Woodbury Union Church Green at the corner of Beach Ave. and West Shore Rd. All interested citizens are invited to attend this happy event.
Bingo at St. Kevin's
There will be a bingo at St. Kevin's Church Hall, 333 Sandy Lane, on Aug. 6. Air-conditioned. The doors open at 6 p.m., bingo starts at 6:30 p.m.
Music in the Village
Music in the Village will be held Aug. 7 at Woodbury Union Church on the corner of West Shore Rd and Beach Ave. Free hot dogs and hamburgers at 4 p.m. Music will begin at 5 p.m. with a selection of religious and secular songs. Please bring a canned good to keep the food pantry stocked. Also, CDs will be available for purchase for $10 with all proceeds going to aid the tornado victims.

Old Warwick Grange #41
The Grange is a fraternal community service, non-profit organization with a special interest in rural life and the traditions of faith, patriotism, leadership and family values. The Child Outreach Department of the Warwick Public Schools, in cooperation with the Volunteers of Warwick schools (VOWS), conducts regular preschool screening clinics. All Warwick preschool children between the ages of 3 and 5 are offered the Early Screening Inventory-Revised (ESI-R). This is a free service provided by the Warwick Public Schools. Participation in a Developmental Screening is a long established program of the Warwick School Department that provides families with information about their child's development and offers information about community resources. The Donate Shop is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit thrift store that provides free clothing to families in crisis. They are an all volunteer organization that relies solely on the support of the community to continue this endeavor. Domestic Violence Volunteers
The Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center (EBCC) is currently seeking volunteers for their Speakers Bureau. All volunteers will be trained to provide outreach, as a representative of EBCC, to communities in their service area through attendance at health and community fairs and by fulfilling requests for informational speaking engagements. Volunteers will receive thorough and specialized training under the supervision of the agency services coordinator before beginning this work. Fife and Drum Corps
The Kentish Guards Fife and Drum Corps rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. at the Kentish Guards Armory on Pierce St. in East Greenwich. Free lessons on playing the fife are provided to men and young men interested in joining the corps.
