Conimicut Village
The Conimicut Village Association will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in the Friendship Room of Woodbury Union Church at the corner of Beach Ave. and West Shore Rd. Plans for the dedication of the Beach Ave. Overlook and the August picnic at the point will be discussed. Refreshments will be served.

Gorton Monthly Luncheon
The Gorton High School Monthly Luncheon will be held July 13 at 11:30 a.m. at Chianti's in East Greenwich. The cost is $13. Gortonites, spouses and friends are welcome.

Music for a Summer Night
The 10 Rod Ramblers will be playing their folk-rock-blues music on the steps of Warwick City Hall July 14 from 6:30-8 p.m. Bring a chair or a blanket and enjoy some music. In case of rain, the concert will be held at Warwick Central Baptist Church. The concert is sponsored by the Apponaug Area Improvement Association.

Christmas in July
"Christmas in July" will be a major fund-raiser for The imPossible Dream to support the "dream" program as well as the special playground. The hall will be transformed into a shopper's paradise. Christmas arts and crafts as well as a Christmas menu will be available. The playground will be turned into a winter wonderland with snow games for the children. The event will be held July 15 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The imPossible Dream, 575 Centerville Rd.

Dog Day Afternoon, Family Day
The Pet Refuge, a no-kill animal shelter, is sponsoring a "Dog Day Afternoon" and Family Day at the Pet Refuge, 500 Stony Lane, North Kingstown, July 17 from 12-3 p.m. There will be a cookout for dogs, their owners and family members and friends at the Family Day Celebration. Free Water Safety Seminars
In the wake of two recent drowning deaths in the area, the YMCA of Greater Providence will offer free community seminars through each of its seven full-service branches. The free seminars will include information on creating a safe physical environment around pools, monitoring and supervising pool activities, visiting parks, beaches and community pools and preventing a drowning. Vacation Bible School
Lakewood Baptist Church, 255 Atlantic Ave., will have vacation Bible school July 18-22 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. This is open to all children from kindergarten through grade 6. A light meal will be provided each night. There will be a picnic on July 23 from 12-4 p.m. at the Masonic Center in Buttonwoods with activities for all who attended this program. Free Concert

The Grange is a fraternal community service, non-profit organization with a special interest in rural life and the traditions of faith, patriotism, leadership and family values. Developmental Screening
The Child Outreach Department of the Warwick Public Schools, in cooperation with the Volunteers of Warwick schools (VOWS), conducts regular preschool screening clinics. All Warwick preschool children between the ages of 3 and 5 are offered the Early Screening Inventory-Revised (ESI-R). This is a free service provided by the Warwick Public Schools. Participation in a Developmental Screening is a long established program of the Warwick School Department that provides families with information about their child's development and offers information about community resources. Donate Shop
The Donate Shop is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit thrift store that provides free clothing to families in crisis. They are an all volunteer organization that relies solely on the support of the community to continue this endeavor. Domestic Violence Volunteers
The Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center (EBCC) is currently seeking volunteers for their Speakers Bureau. All volunteers will be trained to provide outreach, as a representative of EBCC, to communities in their service area through attendance at health and community fairs and by fulfilling requests for informational speaking engagements. Volunteers will receive thorough and specialized training under the supervision of the agency services coordinator before beginning this work. Fife and Drum Corps
The Kentish Guards Fife and Drum Corps rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. at the Kentish Guards Armory on Pierce St. in East Greenwich. Free lessons on playing the fife are provided to men and young men interested in joining the corps.

Join the Pawtuxet Rangers Fife & Drum Corps of Warwick and continue the great tradition of Colonial/Revolutionary history through music.
