YMCA Here to Help
The Kent County YMCA is open. For parents who need to work while schools are still closed they will provide daily care until the public schools reopen. Available from 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Kent County Y-Champlin Lodge. Register at the Y Welcome center. The cost for currently registered Y school-aged child care participants no extra charge. For Kent YMCA members $35 daily.
Shower for those in communities still without power, they invite you to use the locker rooms during the following times: 5-7:30 a.m., 1-4 p.m. and 7:30-8:45 p.m. The Spray Park will be open to the community free of charge Tuesday through Friday from 12-8 p.m. Come to the Y to recharge your cell phone, laptop or other electronic devise. New Date Antique Truck Show
The Little Rhody Chapter of ATCA is sponsoring the 8th Annual Antique Truck Show Sept. 11 from 7 a.m.-3 p.m., rain or shine, at the RI-CONN Historical Air Field, 2357 Plainfield Pike, Coventry. Entry fee is $5 per show vehicle plus a canned good for the RI Community Food Bank. Visitors admission is four or more canned goods or $5 per vehicle. All antique trucks, antique tractors, equipment, engines, antique autos, vintage motorcycles and more. There will be no judging and vehicles will be parked in their own classes. Antique planes will be on display and they will have several fly in to attend the show. Also a flea market. Food and refreshments will be available, with live entertainment, games and more. No one is allowed on the showgrounds on Saturday unless you call 647-7226. No pets, alcoholic beverages or pedal bikes.
Beginner Line Line Dance Classes
Beginner Line Dance Classes will be held every Monday Night from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Tri City Elks Lodge, 1915 West Shore Rd.. All ages welcome. $5 per person. All proceeds benefit Elk Charities. For more info call Lori at 206-3618.
The Meadowbrook Seniors will meet Sept. 8 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Kevin's Hall. A paper penny social will follow the meeting. Refreshments will be provided by officers of the club. New members are welcome.
Conimicut Village Association
The Conimicut Village Association will meet on Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Friendship Room of Woodbury Union Church at the corner of Beach Ave. and West Shore Rd. All residents are welcome. Refreshments will be served.

Old Warwick Grange #41
The Grange is a fraternal community service, non-profit organization with a special interest in rural life and the traditions of faith, patriotism, leadership and family values. Grange-where the whole family can go and grow. Help them to help others. The meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. No meetings in July or August. The Child Outreach Department of the Warwick Public Schools, in cooperation with the Volunteers of Warwick schools (VOWS), conducts regular preschool screening clinics. All Warwick preschool children between the ages of 3 and 5 are offered the Early Screening Inventory-Revised (ESI-R). This is a free service provided by the Warwick Public Schools. Participation in a Developmental Screening is a long established program of the Warwick School Department that provides families with information about their child's development and offers information about community resources. The Donate Shop is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit thrift store that provides free clothing to families in crisis. They are an all volunteer organization that relies solely on the support of the community to continue this endeavor. The shop has a new location at 400 Warwick Ave., Unit #14, between Dunkin Donuts and Shaw's. Domestic Violence Volunteers
The Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center (EBCC) is currently seeking volunteers for their Speakers Bureau. All volunteers will be trained to provide outreach, as a representative of EBCC, to communities in their service area through attendance at health and community fairs and by fulfilling requests for informational speaking engagements. Volunteers will receive thorough and specialized training under the supervision of the agency services coordinator before beginning this work. Fife and Drum Corps
The Kentish Guards Fife and Drum Corps rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. at the Kentish Guards Armory on Pierce St. in East Greenwich. Free lessons on playing the fife are provided to men and young men interested in joining the corps.

Join the Pawtuxet Rangers Fife & Drum Corps of Warwick and continue the great tradition of Colonial/Revolutionary history through music. The Fife & Drum Corps meets every Wednesday night at Wyman Elementary School from 6:30-8 p.m. The corps is open to anyone over the age of 12. Drum and fife instruction is available to beginners.
