Toastmasters
The Ocean State Toastmasters will meet Oct.4 from 7-9 p.m. at Warwick City Hall, 3275 Post Rd. Toll Gate Open House
On Oct. 6, Toll Gate High School will hold its open house. There will be a meeting of all parents starting at 6 p.m. in the Robert J. Shapiro Cultural Arts Center. Mr. Chrabaszcz, principal, will address parents on various topics of interest. A short question and answer period will be held at this time as well. Mrs. Sharon Garber, president of the PTSA, will also address parents. Beginning at 6:30 p.m. all parents will report to their child's advisory period. Advisors will distribute students' schedules. After advisory, parents will follow the schedules and will have the opportunity to make appointments with teachers. The evening will conclude at 8:30 p.m.

Gaspee Seniors
The Gaspee Seniors will meet Oct. 4 as the Buttonwoods Community Center on West Shore Rd. They will be celebrating Balance Day with a speaker and examples of helpful balancing moves.

Meadowlark Seniors

Oldies Music Dance

Silent Auction
The Pet Refuge, a non-profit, no-kill Animal Shelter located in North Kingstown is holding their 5th Annual Silent Auction Oct. 8 from 5:30a.m.-8p.m. at the cold Spring Community, 30 Beach St., Wickford. Offered for bidding are many collectibles, art work, gift certificates, gift baskets, gifts, handmade items and many more great Silent Auction items. There will also be a Raffle Table. Your World Up Close
The macro-photography class instructed by Warwick resident Shane Gutierrez will exhibit their work at the main branch of the Warwick Public Library on Sandy Lane through Oct. 30 in a show titled "Your World Up Close." The exhibited images all reveal subjects photographed at close range using macro photography, and show intriguing, and some surprising, points of view. An opening reception will be held at the library on Oct. 15 from 2-4 p.m.

Vendors Wanted
All crafters, artists, jewelers, bakers, candle makers, Avon, Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, Willow Tree Herbs, Tupperware and others are wanted for the Robertson Elementary School Fall Festival/Craft Fair to be held on Oct. 15 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tables are $25 with a donation item worth $10. Old Warwick Grange #41
The Grange is a fraternal community service, non-profit organization with a special interest in rural life and the traditions of faith, patriotism, leadership and family values. Grange-where the whole family can go and grow. Help them to help others. The meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. No meetings in July or August. The Grange hall is located at 1175 West Shore Rd.

Developmental Screening
The Child Outreach Department of the Warwick Public Schools, in cooperation with the Volunteers of Warwick schools (VOWS), conducts regular preschool screening clinics. All Warwick preschool children between the ages of 3 and 5 are offered the Early Screening Inventory-Revised (ESI-R). This is a free service provided by the Warwick Public Schools. Participation in a Developmental Screening is a long established program of the Warwick School Department that provides families with information about their child's development and offers information about community resources. Free Sunday Lunch

Photographic Society of RI

Donate Shop
The Donate Shop is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit thrift store that provides free clothing to families in crisis. They are an all volunteer organization that relies solely on the support of the community to continue this endeavor. The shop has a new location at 400 Warwick Ave., Unit #14, between Dunkin Donuts and Shaw's. Gambling Counseling Offered

Domestic Violence Volunteers
The Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center (EBCC) is currently seeking volunteers for their Speakers Bureau. All volunteers will be trained to provide outreach, as a representative of EBCC, to communities in their service area through attendance at health and community fairs and by fulfilling requests for informational speaking engagements. Volunteers will receive thorough and specialized training under the supervision of the agency services coordinator before beginning this work. Fife and Drum Corps
The Kentish Guards Fife and Drum Corps rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. at the Kentish Guards Armory on Pierce St. in East Greenwich. Free lessons on playing the fife are provided to men and young men interested in joining the corps.

Fife & Drum Corps
Join the Pawtuxet Rangers Fife & Drum Corps of Warwick and continue the great tradition of Colonial/Revolutionary history through music. The Fife & Drum Corps meets every Wednesday night at Wyman Elementary School from 6:30-8 p.m. The corps is open to anyone over the age of 12. Drum and fife instruction is available to beginners.
