Tri City Elks Events

Bingo Nov. 8 and 22 6:30 p.m. Kitchen opens at 4:30.

The Here Again Band Show Nov. 16, starts at 8:30. Kitchen opens at 6:30, $5 cover.

Nov. 16 Tri City Elks yard sale and craft fair 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tables available to rent for $10 to sell your old stuff or your crafts. Contact Lori at 529-9212.

Don’t forget country line dancing every Monday 7-8:30 p.m. Cost $6. Instructed by Lori Enos.

Friends Bingo

Come and have a great time at the Friends Bingo Sunday, Nov. 9. Doors open at 11 a.m. We are always collecting toiletries for the homeless. Bring a friend to share a great day.

Jewelry Making Class

Jewelry-Making Class for ages 13 and up is open at Warwick Museum of Art, 3259 Post Road. The class introduces students to basic techniques as they create necklaces, earrings, cast pendants and jewel boxes. Using metals, costume jewelry, plus found objects and materials, students will create unique, wearable art under the guidance of certified instructor Kerri Fletcher Saturdays from 1-3 p.m. Nov. 9 and 16. Ocean State Orchid Society

The Ocean State Orchid Society will meet Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. at Spring Hill Suites by Marriott, 14 James P. Murphy Industrial Highway, West Warwick. Ivan Portilla of the family-owned nursery Ecuagenera in Ecuador will be the speaker. Ecuagenera has large reserves at differing elevations and preserve orchid species by continually transplanting orchids back into the wild. Ivan will be bringing bare root orchids for purchase following his talk. Also, there will be a discussion of orchid plants grown and shown by OSOS members and a raffle.

Breakfast/Blood Drive

In loving memory of Eddie Cronin, who died on Nov. 22, 2012, there will be a breakfast and blood drive Nov. 10 from 8 a.m.-12 noon at the JONAH Center on Oakland Beach Ave. Cost is $8. Breakfast includes eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, home fries, toast, coffee, tea and juice. Raffle tickets available for purchase; great prizes and baskets filled with goodies. Swinging Squares of RI Workshops

Bill Burke Variety Show

Trudeau Memorial Center welcomes back Bill Burke in The Variety Show Nov. 13 at 1:15 p.m. in the Patterson Building cafeteria. For over 20 years, Bill has been singing and acting professionally throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He provides exciting entertainment for al audiences and all occasions.

Gorton High School Luncheon

Thanksgiving Food Drive

The Knights of Columbus Council #1738 presents their annual Thanksgiving food drive. Their goal is 300 pounds of food by Nov. 15. Bring non-perishable food items (canned goods, bagged foods, etc.) to 1047 Park Ave., Cranston. Call 944-9700 for more information.

Daughters of Isabella

St. Benedict #423, Daughters of Isabella will be holding a money bingo at St. William Church Parish Hall (due to renovations), 200 Pettaconsett Ave., Warwick, off Post Road, Nov. 16 at 12:30 p.m. $10 includes bingo package plus coffee and dessert (specials excluded). Holiday Cards & Gift Tags Workshops

Ages 15+ will get into the spirit of the holidays by designing personalized greeting cards and artful gift tags at these two-hour workshops Nov. 16 at Warwick Museum of Art, 3259 Post Road. Warwick artist Patty Martucci leads these creative and free-spirited workshops from 10 a.m.-12 noon. $15 per workshop includes materials; early registration is encouraged by phone (using MasterCard or Visa) or by stopping by during gallery hours. Turkey Supper

The First Congregational Church of Warwick, 715 Oakland Beach Ave., is having their annual all you can eat turkey supper Nov. 16 from 4:30-7. This all you can eat dinner includes turkey with vegetables, stuffing, gravy, beverages and our delicious homemade desserts. Cost for adults is $12. Children 12 and under cost $5.  Children under 5 are free.  Come early, this sells out quick.

Turkey Trot

Oakland Beach Volunteer Fire Co., 645 Oakland Beach Ave., will have a turkey trot Nov. 22. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; free admission, free refreshments. Win turkeys, hams, veggies, a complete Thanksgiving dinner and much more. All are welcome; call 737 4786 for more information.

3 Card Mel

William Shields Post #43, 662 West Shore Road, will hold 3 Card Mel (a variation of a meat raffle) every Friday starting Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. in their lounge.

Nature’s Gifts Exhibit

Warwick Museum of Art, 3259 Post Road, is looking for compelling photographic images of the natural world for an exhibit called “Nature’s Gifts” that will run Nov. 23 through Dec. 21 in the main gallery. The beauty and grandeur of nature in its many forms will be showcased with framed works, notecards and prints. All photographers who live in New England are welcome to submit .jpegs for consideration, including students enrolled in undergrad or graduate art studies. Free Winter Coat Exchange

In observance of Buy Nothing Day, a free winter coat exchange will be held at Woodbury Union Church Nov. 29 from 10 a.m.-12 noon. Coats will be collected from those who no longer need them and distributed to those who can use them. Anyone in need of winter wear is welcome. Donations of winter coats, jackets or cold weather vests in all sizes and in good condition are needed. Items may be dropped off at the church on Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m.-12 noon or brought on the day of the exchange. Christmas in New York

On Saturday, Dec. 7, the Greenwich Bay Women’s Club is sponsoring a daytrip to New York City. Come see the Christmas lights, shop for the holidays, take in a play - it’s up to you. The bus leaves R.I. at 7 a.m. and will drop you off mid-town. Enjoy your day, then head for home without having to drive. Toys For Tots

Raymour and Flanigan Furniture will be supporting Toys For Tots this holiday season. The toy campaign will run through Dec. 12. A drop box will be placed in the Warwick location at 444 Quaker Lane, Warwick. Contact the store at 589-2053 with questions.

Pilgrim Senior Center Trips

Clothing Drive

The Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State is seeking donations of gently-used clothing and small household items. Donations help to raise much-needed funding to support mentoring programs for boys and girls throughout the state. They offer convenient home pick-up of donations and provide a tax receipt. For more information or to schedule a home pick-up call 921-2434 or visit www.bbbsos.org.

West Bay Chorale

The West Bay Chorale welcomes new and former members, male and female, all ages.
