Tri City Elks Events

The Lenn Murphy Memorial Family Fundraiser will be held March 29 from 3-7 p.m. at the Elks, 1919 West Shore Road. $20 per person, macaroni dinner, raffle prizes, to benefit www.sailingheals.org.

Lions Club Ham & Bean Supper

The Greater Warwick Lions Club will hold a ham and bean supper March 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1817 Warwick Ave. Tickets are $8 per person and $4 for children under 10 All proceeds will benefit the Lions Club charities For tickets call Rob Farrell at 527-1996.

Girl Scout Cookies

Stop by Saturday, March 29 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Buttonwoods Community Center; Girls Scout Troops 389 and 274 will be selling cookies for summer camp. While you’re there, purchase a box for the West Bay Community Action food pantry. They will also be collecting new children’s socks, underwear and diapers for Project Undercover. 

Free Community Lunch/Food Pantry

A free community lunch & food pantry will be held March 29 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 111 West Shore Road, Warwick. All are welcome. Please don’t arrive before 11.RIPTA #3 Warwick Ave – Hoxsie Four Corners stop at West Shore Nursing Home next to St. Mark’s.

Corned Beef Supper

First Congregational Church of Warwick, 715 Oakland Beach Ave, is having an all you can eat corned beef supper March 29 from 4:30-7. Cost for adults is $12, $5 for 12 and under. Children 5 and under are free. This all you can eat supper also includes homemade desserts, beverages and good company. Come early.

The Big Skate

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State announced their annual Big Skate March 29 from 2-4 p.m. featuring free ice skating, crafts and refreshments. Representatives from the URI hockey team will also be on hand to skate with the kids at the Boss Ice Arena on the URI Kingston Campus. All attendees are encouraged to bring their own skates, as rentals may be limited. Participation in the Big Skate is free; however, an RSVP before March 15 is required. Benefit Concert & Dinner

The Mustard Seed Farm will be hosting a benefit concert and dinner beginning at 6 p.m. on March 29 at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, 60 Rhodes Place, Cranston, sponsored by Cat Country, to help support an equine-assisted therapy program. The evening features blues legend, James Montgomery, Dynamic Sounds Unlimited, dinner/appetizer, silent auction, raffles and door prize The Mustard Seed Farm will be operating a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in East Greenwich that is dedicated to providing equine-assisted therapy for veterans, families and developmentally-challenged children. One of the programs called The Seeds of Courage Program is designed specifically for providing equine-assisted therapy and activities for veterans and emergency responders to support them in personal and professional development. Old England/New England Concert

Warwick Symphony Orchestra and West Bay Chorale will hold a concert March 29 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Kevin’s Church, 333 Sandy Lane, and March 30 at 3 p.m. at CCRI Knight Campus-Hackett Theater, 400 East Ave. Join music directors Catherine Gagnon and Amanda Santo in a celebration of music from Old England to New England selections by British and American composers Admission is $10 at the door or visit www.WSORI.org.

Trivia Night

There will be a Trivia Night March 31 at 7 p.m. at Bellas Restaurant, located at 1152 Main St., Coventry Come and test your knowledge of Rhode Island history and have a great time doing it The Western RI Civic Historical Society (Paine House) is hosting a trivia night where teams will compete in all four rounds of questions all relating to local history. Gaspee Seniors

East Greenwich Leisure Learning

Do you enjoy learning something new in a fun and friendly environment? East Greenwich Leisure Learning, membership organization now in its 36th year, welcomes interested adults, regardless of residency, to join them by registering for their upcoming six-week series of 12 lectures and programs The dates for the spring series are April 3, 10, 24 and May 1, 8 and15, with morning and afternoon presentation each day. Topics of lectures vary from the practical to the historical, especially Rhode Island history, and anything in between Programs are held at St Luke’s Parish House on the corner of Peirce and Church Sts. Bingo will be held April 5 at St Kevin’s Church hall, 333 Sandy Lane, starting with a $75 special; the last special is $100 Doors open at 5 p.m., bingo starts at 6.

Breakfast & Raffle

for Homeless Cats and Dogs

Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter will hold its 10th Annual Breakfast & Raffle April 5 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at Norwood Baptist Church, 48 Budlong Ave. Enjoy a home cooked breakfast including gently scrambled eggs, french toast, crispy bacon, savory sausage, country home fries, fruit salad, coffee and juice. Take a chance on a raffle featuring a large assortment of great prizes. Tickets by reservation are $10 each and $3 each for children under 6 years old and are available now. Reserve your tickets in advance, to donate a raffle prize or for more information, call 467-2692 or 738-6322. Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter, a non-profit 501(c)3 humane organization, will use the proceeds to help the adoptable cats and dogs at the Warwick Animal Shelter. Donations of wet cat and dog food are also appreciated.

Community Health Fair

A community health fair will be held at Temple Torat Yisrael, 1251 Middle Road, East Greenwich, April 6 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Guest speaker will be Dr. Wartenberg from Meadows Edge Recovery Center as well as a PowerPoint presentation by the Alzheimer’s Association. The St. Benedict Circle #423 Daughters of Isabella will hold a monthly business meeting April 7 at 7 p.m. in the parish library. All members are welcome. Refreshments will be served.

Ladies Golf League

Harbor Lights Country Club is sponsoring a Tuesday morning league for ladies in a non-competitive style. They will have a signup day April 8 from 2-3:30 p.m. at the Buttonwoods Center on West Shore Road. Opening day is the first Tuesday in May and ends Sept 23 with a fun day and banquet. Congestive Heart Failure

West View Nursing and Rehabilitation is presenting their third lecture of the year, Understanding and Managing Congestive Heart Failure, April 8. This free one-hour lecture is being held at 10 a.m. and repeated again at 7 that evening. They will provide a complete understanding of congestive heart failure, how to help manage the disease, and knowledge of the signs and symptoms to understand.
