Pasta Dinner

The Pet Refuge, with the help of the North Kingstown firefighters, is hosting a pasta dinner May 10 from 5-8 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge, 1515 Ten Rod Road, North Kingstown. Come and enjoy a traditional pasta and meatballs meal and try the Italian rustic sausage with its own homemade sauce donated by “Becoming Italian Today.” There will be a silent auction and a raffle. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 (under 3 is free). Tickets may be purchased in advance at The Pet Refuge, 500 Stony Lane, North Kingstown; from the firefighters at 8150 Post Road, North Kingstown and 6445 Post Road; and from the North Kingstown Animal Hospital, 3736 Quaker Lane, North Kingstown. Gorton Luncheon

The Gorton High School monthly luncheon will be held May 14 at Timmy’s Waterfront Restaurant, One Bay Avenue, Oakland Beach, at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $15. All Gorton High School classmates from 1941-1955 are welcome. Norwood General Meeting

A general meeting will be held May 15 at 7 p.m. at the Norwood Boys & Girls Club, 43 Frederick St. The agenda will include a community police report followed by a presentation by Master Gardener Barbara Morgan, who will present an interesting presentation on all facets of planting to harvesting and answer any questions related to your gardening questions. There will also be a flower and plant swap at the end of the meeting.  For more details, email norwoodna@verizon.net. All are welcome.

Community Tag Sale

The Conimicut Village Association will host its annual Spring Village-Wide Yard Sale May 17 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. All Conimicut residents/businesses are welcome to participate at no cost by calling 524-8404 or by emailing ginbarham1@aol.com with the address where you will set up. CVA will advertise statewide. Maps showing all participating homes will be available for download at www.conimicut.org and on Craigslist after May 14 and at many participating homes the day of the event. There is no cost to participate.

Narragansett Spring Scramble For SIDS

The Narragansett Spring Scramble For SIDS will take place May 23 with an 8 a.m. start at North Kingstown Public Golf Course. Soft spikes only; $125 per player included continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m., group & individual prizes, awards ceremony, raffles, longest drive, closest to the pin, putting contest, cart, streak fry with a special

presentation to honor Eagle. Mixed groups welcome. Raffle with a chance to win a golf vacation in Catskills worth $500.

Plant & Yard Sale

The Coventry Historical Society will hold a plant and yard sale May 24 from 8 a.m.-12 noon at the corner of Read School House Road and Route 117 in Coventry. Call Virginia Soucy at 397-3661 for more information or to donate items for the yard sale. Donations are gladly accepted.

Divorce Group

The divorce group is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. The sessions are led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. Natick Family & Friend Gathering

A “Natick Family and Friends Gathering” will be held May 31 at the West Valley Inn, 4 Blossom Street, West Warwick. An evening of music, dancing and fun follows the 6 p.m. start of an enjoyable evening that includes a full course dinner prepared by the  Inn. Music will be provided by The Reggie Centracchio Quintet. Grief Support Group

Those who are suffering from the loss of a loved one are welcome to come to one or all of the grief support sessions that will be held at the Christ Church Office Condo (61 Cedar Ave., Unit 6, East Greenwich) every Sunday from 2-4 p.m. through June 1. The meetings will begin with a video featuring interviews with leading authors, counselors, speakers and pastors covering a variety of topics to help you deal with your grief, followed by discussion and sharing. Clothing Collection Drive

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State is holding a collection drive for gently used clothing and small household items. Donations help to raise funds to support mentoring programs for boys and girls throughout the state. They offer convenient free home pick-up of donations and provide a tax receipt. Community Service Scholarship

Available

The Greater Warwick Lions Club announces its annual Academic and Community Achievement Award. This $1,000 scholarship is available to Warwick high school seniors who have demonstrated an active involvement in community service. The deadline for submission is April 30.

New Gallery Hours at WMOA

The main gallery at Warwick Museum of Art, 3259 Post Road, Warwick, is now open Tuesdays through Fridays 10 a.m.-5 p.m. so exhibits are available to school groups, home-school students and anyone who can stop by on their lunch hour. The main gallery is also open on Saturdays from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. for those who work during the week.
