Blood Drive July 12 at 9 a.m. in the lower level of the building. Did you know that only three percent of eligible individuals donate blood? Summer Internships

for College Students

College students are still being interviewed for summer internships, and Warwick Museum of Art is especially interested in education majors who enjoy working with children for its Summer Art Camp, and communications majors who want real-world experience writing articles, press releases and Facebook posts. These are unpaid internships, but WMOA is participating in a state-run program that provides small stipends for students who attend out-of-state colleges. Conimicut Village Memorial Bricks

The Conimicut Village Association is still accepting orders for memorial bricks. Bricks can be used to commemorate a life event or to honor a person, living or deceased. The engraved bricks are installed along the walkway at the scenic overlook at the ocean end of Beach Avenue. Summer Art Camp

Ages 6-12 will have unique ways to explore their creativity this summer at Warwick Museum of Art, 3259 Post Road. New art sessions include comic books, oil pastels, wearable art, and art & poetry in nine lines. Plus, favorite sessions like acrylic painting, ceramics, drawing and jewelry making will be offered again. Sampson Air Force Meeting

The monthly meeting of Sampson Air Force Base Veterans will be held June 24 at 1300 hours. All Air Force veterans, especially Sampson AFB vets, are welcome to the Sampson AFB Veterans Squadron. The squadron holds monthly luncheons on the fourth Tuesday of each month at Twin Oaks Restaurant, 100 Sabra St., Cranston. They will meet in “Billy’s Room.”

Carnival

Greater Warwick Lions will be hosting a carnival at the Rhode Island Mall parking lot June 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29. All proceeds will benefit the Lions’ charities, Ronald McDonald House, children with cancer, Insight, children and adults in the community needing eye exams and glasses, JONAH, and scholarships awarded to Warwick students.

RI Pink Heels

To benefit the RI Chapter of Pink Heals in your community, the RI Pink Heals Meeting House Committee has set the June dates for the center to be open available to survivors and women in treatment. Trout Unlimited Meeting

The Narragansett Chapter of Trout Unlimited (#225) will host its regular monthly meeting June 25 starting at 6 p.m. at the Arcadia Management Area Check Station, Rt. 165, Exeter. This will be the chapter’s second Stream-Side Meetings at the Check Station. Hot dogs, hamburgers and beverages will be available. All members and guests welcomed. Retirees Association

The Warwick Municipal Retirees Association meets the last Wednesday of each month at the Pilgrim Senior Center. Please note the time change for this meeting only: 11:30 a.m. Come to the meeting and get the scoop. Members and new members, plan on attending to support your organization. Summer Night Concert Series

The Apponaug Area Improvement Association presents its 4th Annual Music for a Summer Night Concert Series on the front steps of Warwick City Hall 6:30-8 p.m. The schedule is as follows: Thursday, June 26; Reggie Centracchio Night Life Orchestra Big Band Sound; July 10 Joe Esposito Timeless Classics; July 24 Saucy Jack Band Acoustic Rock; August 7 Bobby Justin Classic Rock ’n Roll; Aug. 21 Ten Rod Ramblers Blues & Rock. In case of rain, concerts will be held in the Friendship Hall of Warwick Central Baptist Church Hall across from City Hall.

Early Bird Breakfast

The First Congregational Church of Warwick, 715 Oakland Beach Ave., is having an early bird breakfast June 28 from 5-10 a.m. This all you can eat breakfast is only $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Children 5 and under eat free.  Menu includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, pancakes, cereal, fruit cocktail, coffee, tea and juice.

St. Benedict Church

100th Anniversary Celebration

St. Benedict Church, 135 Beach Avenue, Warwick, is celebrating 100 years. St. Benedict was the first full Catholic Parish in the City of Warwick. They are looking for former priests, nuns, students, teachers and past and present parishioners to share history and photos. This will be an uplifting event for the faith community. Old-Fashioned Grange Picnic

Celebrate summer with an old-fashioned grange picnic hosted by the Rhode Island and Connecticut State granges. The event will be held July 19 starting at 10 a.m. There will be lunch at 12 noon. The event will be held at the North Stonington Community Grange & Fairgrounds at 21 Wyassup Road, North Stonington, Conn. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided.
