Meadowbrook Bingo

Meadowbrook Terrace, 2220 Warwick Ave., has bingo every Friday night at 6:30 p.m., featuring great prizes and a wonderful group of people. All are welcome.

Warwick Historical Society

The Warwick Historical Society meets weekly at the John Waterman Arnold House on Roger Williams Circle Wednesdays from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and every second Saturday of the month at 11 a.m.-2 p.m. All are welcome and urged to become member and volunteer. Tri-City Elks

Tiki Bar Party July 25 at 6 p.m. Quesadillas, nachos, chili, fish and other tacos. Many lodge specials as well. Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased in the lounge Monday to Thursday after 3 p.m. and Friday to Sunday after noon. Come join the fun.

Country line dancing with Tami has ended for the summer and will resume again on Monday, Sept. 18.

Summer Art Camp

Ages 6-12 will have unique ways to explore their creativity this summer at Warwick Museum of Art, 3259 Post Road. New art sessions include comic books, oil pastels, wearable art, and art & poetry in nine lines. Plus, favorite sessions like acrylic painting, ceramics, drawing and jewelry making will be offered again. Sampsons Air Force Meeting

The monthly meeting of the Sampsons Air Force Base Veterans Association will be held at Twin Oaks Restaurant in Cranston in Billy’s

Norwood Concert

You and your family are invited to a Warwick Parks & Recreation summer concert July 23 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Norwood Gazebo on Pawtuxet Avenue. The guest musician is local Jesse Liam featuring his latest recording “It’s Alright” on his newest CD. His picture appears on the Norwood Association website, www.norwoodnari.org. Bring chairs and/or blankets and enjoy this wonderful-relaxing evening. All welcome.

Summer Night Concert Series

The Apponaug Area Improvement Association presents its 4th Annual Music for a Summer Night Concert Series on the front steps of Warwick City Hall 6:30-8 p.m. The schedule is as follows: July 24 Saucy Jack Band Acoustic Rock; August 7 Bobby Justin Classic Rock ’n Roll; Aug. 21 Ten Rod Ramblers Blues & Rock. In case of rain, concerts will be held in the Friendship Hall of Warwick Central Baptist Church Hall across from City Hall.

Free Community Lunch

A free community lunch and food pantry will be held July 26 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 111 West Shore Road, Warwick. All are welcome. Please don’t arrive before 11 a.m. RIPTA #3 Warwick Ave – Hoxsie Four Corners stop at West Shore Nursing Home next to St. Mark’s.

The Summer Reading Program 2014 will be at the Pontaic Free Library for preschool through grade 6. Trout Unlimited

The Narragansett Chapter of Trout Unlimited #225 will host its regular monthly meeting July 30 starting at 6 p.m. at the Arcadia Management Area Check Station, Exeter. Music at Conimicut Point Park

The Warwick Summer Concert Series comes to Conimicut Point Park July 30 from 6:30-8 pm. Come and listen to the classic rock and country sounds of Bayside Beat. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and enjoy the view and the music.  Free admission.

Auditions for Providence Singers

There will be auditions held for the Providence Singers, seeking tenors in particular, Aug. 5 by appointment only. To schedule, email chorus@providencesingers.org. The audition will be brief and encouraging and will consist of one song of your choice (a hymn is fine), guided vocalization to hear range and a bit of sight-reading. Financial Education Workshops

Home Loan Investment Bank along with the Center for Women & Enterprise will be hosting a financial education workshop, Borrowing Basics, Aug. 5 at Home Loan Investment Bank, Warwick. The workshop will run from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Hoxsie branch. By the end of this course, participants will understand how to use a checking account responsibly. Islands Variety Show

Craft Vendors Wanted

Weekend of Celebration for Gortonites

Osteoarthritis Program

Are the aches and pains of osteoarthritis getting in the way of living life to the fullest? Put Pain in Its Place is a free, one-hour class that gives you the tools to manage your osteoarthritis (OA) pain and live better. Developed by the experts you trust at the Arthritis Foundation in conjunction with the National Council on Aging and sponsored by Ferring Pharmaceuticals, Inc., this program will help you understand OA, its causes and how to treat it; learn self-management strategies to prevent and relieve pain; get inspired to take action and get your pain under control; and find out about effective and safe exercises from the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program. Preschool Registration

The Title I Office for Warwick Public Schools announced that Preschool registration for the 2014/2015 school year has started. The preschool program is fully funded through Title I. The program will run four half days each week with a parent component every other Friday. They are offering a morning or an afternoon session to families. Parents are required to attend every other Friday for informative workshops to support family learning and kindergarten readiness. This program is free of charge and is offered to families living in the Oakland Beach, Hoxsie, Wickes and Norwood areas. Cruise Nights

Every Tuesday until September, the Greater Warwick Lions will be holding Cruising with the Oldies at Oakland Beach in Warwick from 4 p.m. to dusk. Sweet antique cars, DJ Dom playing the oldies, food vendors, raffles and prizes all with an ocean view. All proceeds benefit the Lions’ charities, Ronald McDonald House, children with cancer, Insight, children and adults in the community in need of glasses, scholarships awarded to Warwick students and JONAH. Cruise Night is weather permitting; check the Warwick Lions Cruise Night website for cancellations.

Crafters Needed

Crafters needed for the annual Heritage Day event at the Paine House Museum located at 7 Station St., Coventry, on September 27. The price per table is $25. Tables are not available, so you will have to supply your own. There is limited space this year, so if you’re interested contact Sandy at 821-2444.

St. Benedict’s Church

100th Anniversary Gala

On Sept. 27 St. Benedict Church, 135 Beach Avenue, will be having their 100th anniversary gala. It will begin with 4 p.m. Mass and be followed by a spectacular celebration in the newly refurbished and handicapped accessible Parish Center. The church is looking for former priests, deacons, principals, nuns, teachers, students, choir members and former and present parishioners. They would like your pictures and past history to make this a memorable and uplifting event not only for the parish but also the faith community. Photographic Society of RI
