Bill Beaudry knew he had a big one on in the early morning hours while fishing Wednesday near India Point Street Bridge in Providence. Weighing in at 42.45 pounds, the fish was just a faction heavier than the 42.35-pound fish Eddie Voisinet hauled in earlier in the William Beaudry Memorial Striper Tournament that started June 14 and runs through June 22. Beaudry has been running the tournament since his son died six years ago with all funds raised going into a scholarship fund for his granddaughter, Kayla Beaudry. A total of $1,100, including a top prize of $500 is awarded in the tournament. The tournament closes with an event that includes a raffle at the FOP Hall. Here Beaudry displays his giant catch with Voisinet holding a 23.20 pound striper he caught early Wednesday. Thirty-one are registered in the tournament.
