The Community College of Rhode Island’s Center for Workforce and Community Education will hold a new series of workshops this month designed to help attendees navigate job-seeking and the workplace.

The sessions are free and open to the public and will be held in Room 1130 (on the first floor behind the cafeteria) at the college’s Knight Campus, 400 East Ave., Warwick.

The series are:

“How to Get an Interview” – 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 13

You completed 100 applications online but no one has called? Learn ways to bypass the electronic screeners, move your résumé to the top of the list and land a face-to-face meeting.

“Hiring from the HR Perspective” – 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17

What do recruiters really want to know about applicants? Why do they ask those questions? And why don’t they ever get back to applicants? Get answers to these and other questions from an experienced human resources professional.

“Your Online Presence” – noon to 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22

LinkedIn, Facebook, Periscope, Twitter, Instagram, Google: What can others learn about you online? What is their first impression of you? Learn how to ensure a professional online presence that enhances your job search.

“Working with Your Grandpa” – 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22

Whether you’re a member of Generation Z, the Greatest Generation or somewhere in between, generational differences can affect your work life. Learn some of these key differences in communications, behavior and values that differ by generation and how these differences can complement one another.

Participants also can learn more about the free Career Pathways for the 21st Century program, which offers career exploration and skills improvement for adults interested in training in one of the state’s high-demand sectors. The program will run in three sessions this spring:

6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 23 to March 24, at the CCRI satellite campus at Westerly High School

6 to 9 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, Feb. 29 to March 30, at the CCRI Knight Campus in Warwick

9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, April 11 to June 27, at the CCRI Knight Campus in Warwick
