CCRI volunteers ready to help non-profits

Do you know any nonprofit organizations that could use a little elbow grease from a group of willing volunteers? If so, CCRI invites them to apply to become a service site for the college’s 10th annual Community Service Day on Tuesday, April 5.

Interested nonprofits that can accommodate at least 10 volunteers for a full day of work (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) can complete the online form by Jan. 6.

Past projects have included interior painting and cleaning; landscaping and outdoor beautification; inventory cataloging; sorting donated food and clothing; working with clients and more. The nonprofit agency identifies the projects, provides tools and decides the number of volunteers the site can accommodate. The college provides an army of volunteers to get the jobs done as well as a site coordinator for each location to serve as liaison with the nonprofit, organize shifts and supervise volunteers.
