Campaigning by the Bay

Ward 5 Republican candidate and chair of the GOP party Danny Hall (second from right) held his final fundraiser of the season earlier this month at the Warwick Country Club and raised $1,500. Hall, a corrections officer at the Department of Corrections, said he has been walking the ward since July, putting in a few hours a day. “I’ve gotten nothing but positive responses – I haven’t had one negative response,” he said. “It’s fun and it’s exciting, but there’s more work to be done. It’s a long campaign season. We still have two months to go.” If elected, he hopes to bring “accountability and accessibility” to the public and plans to focus on improving access to sewers, addressing issues the T.F. Green Airport expansion has caused, as well as doing more with Rocky Point Park. Hall’s grandfather, Robert “Red” Darigan, who is well known in the city for his volunteer efforts, attended the event and expressed how proud he is of his grandson. “I’m grateful because he’s a good boy,” said Darigan, who won the Samuel Gorton Award in November. “He wants to do something for the city.” Additionally, Ward 1 Councilman Steve Colantuono (left), Mayor Scott Avedisian, and Republican candidate for Ward 4 Mike Penta (right) were in attendance, as were Warwick Fire Chief Ed Armstrong, and president of the Warwick Fire Fighters Local 2748, William Lloyd. Warwick Fire Fighters recently endorsed Hall.
