Feinstein Junior Scholars at Oakland Beach Elementary School are helping the less fortunate by collecting canned goods throughout November. So far, they’ve collected more than 1,000 canned goods. They will conclude their efforts tomorrow and soon be donating half of the items to St. Rita Church, which will distribute them accordingly to local people in need and the rest to New York victims of Hurricane Sandy. From left are sixth graders Kaylee Corcoran, Gage Blackburn, Briana Simas and Annabelle Paul. (Submitted photo)
