Carol Ann (Kennedy) Malloy, 83, walked gently into the arms of her Lord Jesus on October 21 in the presence of her loving family. Carol married the late Thomas Aquinas Malloy, the love of her life in 1954. They shared 41 years of devoted marriage.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Kathleen (Carroll) Kennedy. She attended Holy Name, St. Xavier, Katherine Gibbs School of Business and graduated from the University of Rhode Island with highest honors. Carol was very involved in the family businesses working along side her husband. She had worked at Malloy Lumber and maintained an active presence at the Red Vest Inn. She had served as secretary and treasurer of Malloy Enterprises and the Irish Partnership.

Carol was an extraordinarily kind, loving and gentle soul; yet possessed the strength and fortitude to never waiver. She lived an honorable, God-centered life and always carried herself with grace and dignity. Her quiet dedication, her unwavering and ever-deepening faith is an extraordinary example of God’s grace and blessings. She lived her life as a conduit of His gifts; sharing everything she had with every soul she touched. As a longstanding parishioner of Immaculate Conception parish, she was a daily communicant, a Eucharistic Minister, lector at Mass and a CCD teacher for 25 years. She was a member of the Rosary and Altar Sodality, served on the Finance Committee and the Ministry Committee. Carol also had the distinction to be the first woman in the parish history to serve as a trustee. She was instrumental in the planning and parish approval of the new Immaculate Conception School. She also volunteered for numerous civic organizations including the Woodridge School PTA, and the RI Bicentennial Commission.

Carol will forever remain in the hearts of her six children: Kevin T. Malloy and his wife, Megg, Gary T. Malloy and his companion, Leslie Haley, Kerryann Malloy, Thomas F. Malloy and his wife, Sharon, Erin K. Malloy Aceto and her husband, Joseph, Christopher E. Malloy and his wife, Amy. As matriarch of her large Irish brood, to Carol, family was everything. “Nana” was blessed with nine grandchildren: Madison, Mackenzie, Cassidy, Megan, Kelsey, Shannon, Ava, Olivia and Vanessa, who brought her tremendous joy. She also leaves two brothers Joseph Kennedy and John Kennedy.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, October 29, at 8:30 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, Oaklawn Avenue.
