Carolyn Barone named secretary of RI Bar Association

Carolyn R. Barone, Esq. is the new secretary of the Rhode Island Bar Association, the largest non-profit membership organization in Rhode Island with more than 6,000 member lawyers and judges.

She has been associated with Kirshenbaum Law Associates throughout her legal career. A partner of the firm since 1987, her law practice is concentrated in all aspects of family law. She was honored through peer recognition as a Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters and designated a Top Attorney in the state of Rhode Island.  She has been on the faculty of many seminars devoted to family law and lectured on domestic relations practice for the Rhode Island Bar Association and the National Business Institute. She is a contributing author to A Practical Guide to Divorce in Rhode Island, First Ed., published by MCLE, Inc., 2009, on the topic of Business Valuations. 

Barone graduated magna cum laude from Bryant University and cum laude from New England Law/Boston. She is authorized to practice law in the State of Rhode Island, including the Federal District Court, and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.  She is on the Bar Association’s Executive Committee, a member of the Association’s House of Delegates and sits on the Public Service Committee.  Barone is a long-standing participant in the Rhode Island Bar Association’s Volunteer Lawyer Program and has received both the Pro Bono Publico Award and the Continuing Service Award.
