Warwick Police are hopeful a puppy will give them a lead to the three men believed to be in their mid-20s who broke into a Beatrice Avenue home early Feb. 3, held two adult males at gunpoint while ransacking the house and making off with a small quantity of cash, a handgun and marijuana.

The intruders, who broke in from the rear of the property while the occupants slept, also took with them an 11-week-old female American bulldog puppy from the home. The puppy is described as gray and white in color with speckling on its belly. She weighs approximately 11-12 pounds.

Captain Brad Connor said Monday that police are hopeful someone will recognize the dog and call them.

Connor confirmed that marijuana was being legally grown at the house for medical purposes. He said the gun taken from the premises was legal.

He said police are continuing their investigation and that anyone with information, or believing to have seen the puppy, should call Warwick Police detectives at 401-468-4200.

Why are marijuana grows not against city ordinance for residential properties? If you want to grow it get a properly licensed commercial location.

These grows seem to lead to violence and also fires. They don't belong in our neighborhoods.
