Cecile Anita (Sevigny) Hines, 98, passed away peacefully Monday April 21 at St. Elizabeth's Home with her devoted husband of 71 years, J. Gerald Hines by her side.

Born in West Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Omer A. & Marie Louise (Lachapelle) Sevigny. Following a childhood in the Natick area of West Warwick, Cecile graduated from Rhode Island College of Education (RICE) and taught in the RI public school system for many years. She volunteered at RI School of the Deaf learning sign language to communicate with the students. A lifetime devoted Catholic, she was active at both St Joseph Parish, Natick and Immaculate Conception Parish Cranston. She possessed an enviable zest for life, finding joy in the ordinary as well as the extraordinary moments of life. Cecile was a selfless woman who captured the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves a legacy of love and devotion.

She will be greatly missed by her five children: Marcia Siler White and husband, David of Delray Beach Florida, James Hines and wife, Carol of Tiverton, Stephen Hines and wife, Patricia of North Kingstown, Anita Bussey of Charlestown and Gregory Hines and wife, Holly of Westlake Village, California. Mimi will always be remembered by her grandchildren, 11 living and one deceased ; 18 grea-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings: Irene Joyal, Estelle Pearson, Omer Sevigny, and Therese Furmanski.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville, Route 117, Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Drive, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours, Sunday, 4-7 p.m.
