To say that five dozen Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce members recently received some special white glove treatment would be an understatement.

Costumes or no costumes, the CRIC’s Business After Hours was made special by the night’s number one host, White Glove Service, Inc. of Warwick owner Shelley Grace Green.

“This is special for sure,” Robert Ayers, the general manager of Warwick’s well-appointed Marriott Residence Inn, said while standing alongside Carmine DeLuca of Lynch’s Cleaning and Beverly Levitt-Narciso of Tamarisk Assisted Living and enjoying a sausage stuffed mushroom with parmesan served by Shelah Rice. “These hors d’oeuvres are great.”

Each of the 60-plus business professionals who attended the networking night concurred, especially since a total of four different agencies had a hand in the night’s success.

While the Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce was the presenting group, Workdigz co-hosted the event with one of its clients, White Glove Service, Inc., that hired Fireworks Catering to prepare and pass two hours of heavy hors d’oeuvres inside the unique 5,000-square-foot facility located at 16 International Way and off Metro Center Boulevard in Warwick.

For openers, people learned Workdigz is Rhode Island’s premier co-working/virtual office membership club that General Manager Jessica Northup explained, “Whether you are starting your own small business, are an established professional or even a new freelancer or remote worker, we have the work and play solution for you.”

Northup, who was decked out in military fatigues during the Halloween-themed night with costumes optional, continued, “Our collaborative, serviced office space offers you the ability to get out of the house, leave the coffee shop, escape the stifling corporate cube and join our community for a more productive work environment so you and your business can thrive.”

Workdigz and Northup received praise from business professionals like Paul Wryostek and Mark Deion, who enjoyed a choice of poured wines, the camaraderie of the fun-filled pre-Halloween event and professional greeting by Cleopatra, a.k.a. Joyce Kosiba, a Warwick resident and receptionist at Workdigz.

Even Mary Ellen Lindemann, a long-time travel consultant for Dats Travel and station supervisor for Cape Air as well as a pioneer in the former all-male world of Rhode Island Little League Baseball, was impressed with the night’s goings-on.

“What a great night for networking, fun and even some food,” said Lindemann, who lives in Coventry. “There’s a nice feeling throughout this whole place.”

That was the consensus of all attendees, especially CRIC officials like Lauren Slocum and Denise Drouin, who observed, “You’re never too old to have run – or wear a costume doing just that.”
