What happens when a socially-conscious company teams up with its generous customers and vendors in support of Rhode Island’s premier pediatric hospital? The answer is simple: they raise more than $15,000 for Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

Throughout the month of October, 29 Colbea Shell Gas Stations and nine Seasons Corner Markets organized the “Change 4 Kids” fundraising campaign, offering their customers a variety of ways to make donations to Hasbro Children’s Hospital. The campaign was made possible by Colbea Enterprises, the parent company of participating locations, and coordinated in partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The effort also received promotional assistance from Cumulus Providence.

“We could not be more grateful for how our customers and vendors came together to make this year’s campaign an incredible success,” said Sandra Delli Carpini, marketing director for Colbea Enterprises and Seasons Corner Market. “Hasbro Children’s Hospital plays a vital role in our community by caring for children dealing with every injury and illness imaginable; we are glad to help them further their mission any way we can.”

During the “Change 4 Kids” campaign, participating locations placed collection boxes at the point of checkout to encourage customers to donate change from their purchases to Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Colbea Enterprises also secured vendors to offer extra incentives such as donating 25 cents per 20-ounce Coke each Tuesday and 25 cents per 20-ounce Pepsi each Friday.

“It is absolutely amazing to see how the contributions of so many add up when they’re supporting a cause as important as the health and well-being of our children,” said Dr. Patricia Flanagan, interim pediatrician-in-chief for Hasbro Children’s Hospital. “Our sincere thanks to Colbea Enterprises and everyone involved – vendors and customers alike – for demonstrating a commitment that will impact the lives of our patients.”
