Charles L. Kettlety, age 81, of 1811 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, and formerly of Frontier Road, Warwick, died on February 19, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the husband of the late Rita J. (Harrington) Kettlety.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Charles L. and Ruth M. (Henry) Kettlety, he lived in Warwick for most of his life. He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a member of William Shields, Jr. Post # 43 American Legion. He was a graduate of Providence College. Mr. Kettlety was employed as a Resource Specialist with the RI Department of Elderly Affairs for 18 years, retiring in 1993. A communicant of St. Benedict Church, he served as a volunteer at the church. He was a Past Grand Knight of St. Michael’s Council Knights of Columbus, and a volunteer for the Mental Health Association and Meals-On-Wheels.
He was the brother of the late Marcia K. Wheeler, Reginald A. Kettlety, Gene H. Kettlety, and Judith A. Cudworth. He is survived by many nieces and nephews; four sisters-in-law; and many friends.
His funeral was held on Friday, February 22, from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Benedict Church, 135 Beach Avenue, Warwick. Burial with military honors was in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
