Charles R. Gauthier, 84, died peacefully, July 22, 2012. He was the husband of the late Catherine A. (Stevens) Gauthier.
Born in Seekonk, Mass., a son of the late Lucien and Dorothy (Sceeles) Gauthier, he had been a resident of Warwick for 17 years, formerly residing in Providence. Mr. Gauthier had been employed with the former E. A. Adams Co. for many years and had worked for the Claflin Co. in Warwick until his retirement. He was a United States Army Korean War veteran. In recent years, one of his greatest joys was watching his son-in-law and grandsons play baseball on the Twin Oaks Baseball Team.
He was the father of Charles R. Gauthier, Jr. of Apopka, Florida, Gail Schoeninger of Warwick, Robert C. Gauthier of West Warwick, Annmarie Macomber of Warwick, and Gail Ann Lucas of Warwick; brother of Robert Gauthier of Warwick, John Gauthier of West Warwick, Maurice Gauthier of Port Charlotte, Fla., Dorothy “Sis” Adams of West Warwick, Lorraine Aguiar of Orlando, Fla., Carol Mowry of Lincoln, the late Diane Caleeba, the late Arthur Gauthier and Lawrence Gauthier. He was also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and was loved by many.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Rita Church, Oakland Beach Ave. Burial with military honors in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visiting hours Tuesday 5-8 p.m.
