Stephen McCartney is one of six 2015 inductees into the Criminal Justice Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame induction ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, June 11 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick.

Established by Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin, the Rhode Island Criminal Justice Hall of Fame honors outstanding professionals who have worked to improve and uphold the principles of the criminal justice system in Rhode Island.

Inductees into the Hall of Fame are nominated and selected by the Criminal Justice Hall of Fame Board of Trustees. Inductees include local and state law enforcement professionals, academics, judges, attorneys, community activists, and other professionals who have made a significant impact in the criminal justice system through personal and professional achievements.

“I am honored to announce the 2015 inductees. Each inductee has made a lasting impression on our criminal justice system in Rhode Island and represents the very best of their respective professions,” Attorney General Kilmartin said in a release.

“Each member of the 2015 class has made an indelible mark on our criminal justice system. I have had the distinct pleasure and honor of working with each inductee in some capacity and cannot think of a finer group of individuals to be recognized,” added the Honorable John Cappelli, District Court Judge (Ret.).

“The 2015 inductees into the Rhode Island Criminal Justice Hall of Fame have dedicated their lives to ensuring that Rhode Islanders receive professional, fair, impartial, and considerate treatment throughout the criminal justice system. We, as Rhode Islanders, are grateful for their dedication and commitment to making our state a better place to live and work,” said Colonel Steven G. O’Donnell, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police in a release.
