The Warwick Association for Affordable Assisted Living (WAAAL), a tax-exempt 501(c)3, non-profit organization whose goal is to assist older and disabled individuals stay independent as long as possible in their own apartments, is holding a chopstick auction Oct. 4 from 12-3 p.m. at the Pilgrim Senior Center.
WAAAL runs a program called “At Your Service,” which assists individuals in the Warwick Senior Housing, Cranberry Pond, Shalom and St. Elizabeth’s Terrace apartments with chores they find difficult to do. Assistance is offered at a reasonable fee for housekeeping, heavy tasks, social services and more.
The chopstick auction, preceded by a hotdog lunch at noon, will begin at 1:15 p.m. Cost is $10 per chopstick. If you would like to purchase chop sticks call Gus at 738-5218, Vertie at 738-6763 or Gail at 739-2255. You do not need to be in attendance to win.
