Clouds Hill Victorian House Museum will pay tribute to the generations of women who kept the estate for all to see today with an exhibit opening May 10.

A Household of Women – Roles of the Ladies of Clouds Hill and the Female Staff exhibit covers the four generations of women who have owned Clouds Hill since 1877. This exhibit details the activities of these unusual women socially and professionally – from mountain climbing, flying, firefighting, scouting and Red Cross work, to conservation law enforcement, these women broke the gender barriers. The exhibit will also include the equally important roles of the female staff in maintaining the household.

General opening days are May 10 and May 18 from 1 to 3 p.m., or call to arrange a time that fits your schedule while the exhibit remains on display May 7 through May 21.

Clouds Hill is a museum located at 4157 Post Road in Warwick, in addition to being a private home that has remained in the same family since it was built. The museum opens to the public by appointment in addition to these already scheduled openings.

General admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $8 for college students with ID, and $5 for children.

For more information on Clouds Hill, this exhibit or the many others planned for the year, contact Anne Holst or Wayne Cabral at 884-9490, or visit www.cloudshill.org.
