Congressman recognizes TSA agent’s quick thinking

Congressman Jim Langevin (D-RI) recently honored TSA officer Tom Rock for his part in apprehending a fraud suspect at T.F. Green Airport. Rock was checking a woman through security when he recognized her from an alert. Instead of stopping her at security and giving her the chance to run, Rock let her through and alerted the proper authorities, leading to her apprehension. “As a frequent airline passenger, I know that the work of TSA officers is so important,” said Langevin. “TSA has to be one hundred percent accurate one hundred percent of the time. All it takes is one security failure for the bad guys to put countless lives at risk. That is a lot of pressure and responsibility, but we are fortunate in Rhode Island to have an exceptional group of security agents protecting us at T.F. Green.”The congressman then presented Rock with a citation, thanking him for his service. “I am proud to recognize Tom for his diligence and professionalism,” said Langevin. “Thank you to Tom and all of his colleagues at TSA for your hard work. It does not go unnoticed.”
