In an article about the life and death of Cranston native and WWII Army Air Force pilot Robert Thorpe (May 9), a quotation about the failure to locate the remains of the pilot in 2009 was attributed to Walter Thorpe, the late father of Robert Thorpe. It was, in fact, Gill Thorpe, the pilot’s surviving brother, who told the writer about the attempt. We apologize for the error.
