To the Editor:
Being a Girl Scout isn't only about cookies and camp. It is about finding your own kind of happy. As a Girl Scout, I'm able to challenge myself, I'm able to make new friends and memories – and feel happy.
For me, Girl Scouts is that happy place. Every meeting a Girl Scout attends they can expect lots of fun with their fellow Girl Scouts. When we are all together in our troop, a memory is created every trip and every memory for me is a happy one. One memory I have was on the biggest trip I have taken so far, The Pinegrove Trip. It was a horseback riding adventure.
A friend of mine was scared that something would go wrong and refused to get on the horse. The girls in our troop knew that she would have a great time if she could just get on, so we had to make sure she tried. Someone shouted out, "If you don't get on that horse, we`ll get off!" Then someone else said, "Yeah, we`ll all get off!"
So with our help, she found her courage, and with our support she got on the horse and loved it. We were all happy to have shared such a great memory together. Girl Scouts is the best place to create new memories and when I look at every photo from the fun adventures we've had together it is like a bouquet of smiles.
I think every girl should get to feel this happiness and make these memories. I think every girl should be a Girl Scout.
