Criticism censored from Stacia Facebook page

Posted

An open letter

to Stacia Petri Huyler:

I am writing this to you through the Beacon due to the fact I can no longer contact you on Facebook. Many of my friends and associates have been blocked from your pages because they either put up an opposing view of your politics, stated that they did not agree with you, or had proven your “facts” wrong. Their opinions are posted to your page; you then block them and then send them a private message, telling them they are wrong or lying. I, too, had commented on your Stacia For Mayor page because I questioned what your plans were for the City of Warwick, only to have my comments deleted and blocked from your page.

The one most recent post is regarding the trucks that Mayor Lombardi of North Providence purchased, and a few followers commented on your post. Yes, Mr. Lombardi did do a good thing for North Providence by buying the trucks. These trucks have high mileage and are deteriorating; snow, salt and sand have an effect on the bodies of these trucks. Yes, they can be cannibalized, but what Mr. Lombardi does not tell you is there are going to have to be parts replaced, new parts bought and I am sure new blades. All this elevates the cost of these vehicles above the $24,000 he paid for them. You refer to the $20,000 that the city “spent” on plow blades. It is my understanding that the money was requested by DPW to buy new blades and not that the blades were already purchased. The City Council must approve that expenditure and may not grant the full amount asked. From watching the video of the council meeting, DPW was only asking for $20,000 for 200 blades. You had questions as to breakage. Yes, plow blades can break from time to time and they can break on manhole covers. The plow driver cannot see, and I am sure I would not be able to either, manhole covers buried under three inches of snow.

Now, as to your most recent post about the skids on plow blades: it seem Mr. Picozzi answered the councilman’s question. The skids are removed so they can get blade on pavement. With the skids on, more snow will be left on the roadway. From the comments, it seems like this is common practice. If someone was plowing my driveway, I would not want them to have skids on their plow leaving an inch of snow behind, I would want blade to pavement.

It is just my observation, but it seems that you do not want people to see there are a lot of people that disagree with you and that you are misinformed on some issues. It seems you want people to blindly trust your word as truth and believe the spin you put on it. If no one can see opposing views or misinformation corrected then you must be right? The initial shock of your statements brings out the ire in a frustrated constituency. Their posts and statements are made out of anger and frustration. If they do a bit of searching they will realize the truth.

I am writing this here because I cannot be blocked or deleted by your page administrators at Stacia for a new direction in Warwick or by your Stacia For Mayor page. If you have any desire to enter the political arena again, you will have to grow a thicker skin and be willing to debate people be it in a public forum or on social media.

Respectfully,

William Provencal

Warwick

Mr. Provencal, now you know what Bob Cushman felt like when Howell silenced him by eliminating his column. But, I agree with you, blocking an opposing point of view is not the appropriate way to handle it.

This is day 2 of Stacia's Facebook page being a "Hot Story" in the featured links area on the main page of the Beacon. It must be either a really big story or someone at the Beacon wants to report negative stories about Stacia. Stacia is a big supporter of Bob Cushman. Is this somehow a way to discredit Mr Cushman's upcoming report before the city council?

It should be noted that when I was on the School Committee from 2008 -2012 many of my comments were removed directly from the Warwick Beacon Website. I had written large sections of information right on the Beacon webpages about stories that were reported. I also criticized the Mayor and his budget in comparison to the school committee budget during that time. I find it hypocritical of the Beacon to print these letters about Stacia censoring criticism on her personal and public Facebook pages when the Beacon did the same thing to me on their own website.

I emailed the beacon and left messages on the comment section asking where my comments were and got no response.

Stacia blocked me because I disagreed with her. Nothing vulgar was said I just disagreed with her campaign and bam I get blocked. There are plenty of arguments I would like to engage in but she doesn't have the courage to so we just get blocked. She takes on the firefighters, DPW, etc.. Bashes them and their work without understanding one aspect of how they do their work. Stop in an see what they do before you criticize their work.

    Dear Unionthug,

Can we stop in at 3pm when you are all hanging around and hiding out in the break room waiting to punch out at 3:24 because the antiquated 50 year old time clock clicks on the 10th of the hour? Can we just stop in? Can we stop in to document the massive inefficiencies due to time wasted from driving around with no work insight and no way to document your movements throughout the day? ? Can we stop in at 11:30 to see all of the operators of vehicles who packed up their tools and left their work place at 11:15 to drive back to the city yard for lunch, stayed an extra 10 -15 minutes, then drove back to the place they were working at to begin work again? Do we have to spell it out that from a business construction point of view that this behavior would not be tolerated by any construction company? Do we really have to attempt to justify the fact that every move orchestrated by Picozzi, is one to waste time, bilk the taxpayer, and promote an atmosphere that willful intent to preplan a method to waste time, Is somehow welcomed by Mr. Picozzi, the mayor, and the unions in an effort to continue to justify the wasteful behavior?

    To Thecaptain,

So, you have proof of all this alleged inefficiencies? You have been inside the employee only area where these workers punch in and out? Do you have anything to back up your allegations? Since you show cowardice by hiding behind a username, I will draw my conclusion that you have no proof of what you allege. How about you go out with these workers at 2:45 am in January when its 15 degrees outside and have to fix a water main break. How about you go out and plow with these guys for 24 hours straight. How about you stand with them when its 85 degrees outside with 80% humidity to fill potholes, cut the grass at City Park, install irrigation systems at ballfields, and why not go with them in this weather when they have to clean out the storm drains of leaves, litter and heaven knows what else. These men work in extreme temperatures in winter and summer, when plowing miss time away from their families and then have to listen to people like you who complain because they see a truck parked at a fast food restaurant due to the fact that the individual has been out plowing for 12 hours and this is the first chance he gets to eat and grab a coffee.

What do you do for work? It seems to me that for you to put these allegations out, to see these trucks "driving around with no work in sight". If you think you can run the city better why not run for the position. As you read my last sentence you are probably saying to yourself "I don't want to run for mayor." Until you want to run for mayor, hide behind your user name and keep throwing out allegations that you cannot prove. The reason you cannot prove these allegations is because they don't happen.

Do us all a favor, grab your brother the Cowardly Lion, and stay home. I do not hide behind user names and proudly sign my name!

    Mr. Christie Provencal,

Evidently you have not seen any of the you tube videos that have been posted, none of the eyewitness news 12 pieces that have documented buddy punching, theft of tools, theft of materials, people driving to Goddard Park on the clock, etc. Evidently you haven't seen any of the Hummel news pieces with other DPW workers screwing off, driving unregistered cars, being paid while on the clock. Evidently you must be blinded after becoming the newly married Mr. Christie.

By the way, do you think that they are the only people that work in the hot sun or in the cold temperatures? No one dragged them kicking and screaming to apply for that job (other than Dave). However, when you look at the fact that 71% of the DPW work force have criminal records, its reasonable to concur after documentation, that there is an enormous amount of wasted time, especially driving around doing nothing. In fact, I'll posted the most recent video today for your viewing pleasure.

    To fenceman,

Do you mean criminals like Bob cote? Criminals who dump gas into the sewer system? Or criminals who take in foster children just for the money that he gets from the state? Bob cote steals more tax paying dollars than any city worker of warwick. Rather than use the money the state pays him to raise foster children, he uses that money to pay for gas and video equipment to follow city workers. Talk about scum of the earth. At least the city workers earn their money and don't pray on innocent children.

I originally "liked" stacia's page because her candidacy intrigued me. Then I asked the simple question "what is your plan to change how warwick is run?". I thought it was a fair question for someone who was vying to become mayor. My comment was deleted and I was promptly blocked. I didn't even criticize her! I asked her what her plan was and that was apparently too much for her to handle! It immediately proved to me that she is not a realistic candidate, but rather a pawn in roy dempsey and Bob cote's game. I can't believe that cote and dempsey still think that people care what they have to say. How long is it going to take for them to figure out that they are a SMALL minority in this city and that a majority of residents are happy with this city?

Dear Mr. Cote aka fenceman, Thecaptain,

I was willing to read your post but the way you addressed me I think was uncalled for. Who I am married to has no bearing on what my opinion is. I find it disrespectful and somewhat childish of you calling me Mr. Christie. I will say I was amused by it, due to the fact that when someone does not have a decent argument, they start name calling and going on personal attacks. If you feel the need to continue to call me Mr.Christie, please spell it right: Mr. CHRISTY.

I will now address your videos (which I did watch), of what you call wasted taxpayer money. As I was watching these videos, you STATE that the workers were driving around for hours at a time, yet your videos are only 8 to maybe 12 minutes long. With the right computer software, I could make myself age 50 years in three minutes. From what I deduce (do you need a dictionary for that?), you start shooting a video, pause for maybe 2-3 minutes and then say the workers were in Dunkin Donuts, a house, where ever for 20 -25 minutes. Its very easy to shut the camera off, adjust your clock on your radio 20 minutes to substantiate your claim. It is also possible that yes, you are editing on your computer at home to make it appear they have done something wrong. Why not show the whole video, show the time on your clock ticking away. Why not bring someone with you so they can shoot the video while you drive so you don't have to stop filming, not to mention the danger to other drivers from your distracted driving. The one that made me chuckle was the special hazards truck at the marina. There is no audio, except for you and your false narrative, of what the firemen were talking to the people about. Could there have been a spill in the water, on the dock? You would know about having the fire department come because of a fire in a sink and fuel in a drain. Do you know for a fact that the pizza boxes belonged to the fireman? is it possible the people on the dock offered the firemen a slice for checking out their concern? Where they there for a safety inspection? I know I couldn't tell because I could not hear what they were talking about. I watched enough of the videos to realize there is no solid proof that MY tax dollars were being wasted.

As far as Jim Hummel's reports, his are just as unproven as yours. If you want to call Hummel (I will not give him the respect of Mr.) sticking a camera in peoples face in order to get a reaction journalism and investigative reporting, you need to do find out what those terms mean.

I understand these are not the only people that work in extreme temperatures, but they are out there supporting their families working in these conditions.

Now to deal with the 71% of he workers with criminal backgrounds. Is it your opinion that people don't deserve second chances? What were these "crimes" they committed. Any of them ever brought up on felony charges? Oh yes one that I know of was, your friend, Stephen Kelly. I hope he put to good use the "$gift" you and Walt gave to Kelly for the favor he did for you.

I see that you failed to say what you do for a living? How do you have so much time to follow city workers? Are you using the money for gas that the state gives you to take care of foster kids? Was it not a waste of taxpayer money for you to take the Civil Air Patrol plane and take a joy ride over Exeter? I could reasonably surmise due to the extensive video footage and the amount of gas you use that you are collecting SSDI and using tax dollars to gas up your vehicle to follow city workers. What a team you, Stacia, Cushman, and Durand would make to run the city.

Hope you enjoy being followed as much as you following others. Good day Mr. Cote, fenceman, Thecaptain. Now you cannot hide behind your username!

Here is the document that none of the union members want (or cant) read. It is also the document that the gutless city council refused to make public, so I will do it for them. Try to read and understand it. To sum it up, the actuaries agree with Cushman. ENJOY

Re: PCR-108-14 - Requesting the City Council Auditor Respond to Councilman Merolla’s E-mail Dated May 1, 2014 Regarding Pension Plans And Healthcare Costs

    MEMORANDUM

In response to the Resolution appearing on this evening’s Council Docket, please consider the following:

    • On May 1, 2014, I received an e-mail from Councilman Merolla, asking me to “verify the numbers” contained in Former Councilman Robert Cushman’s “Warwick impact analysis handouts 1 & 2“. The attachments were 1 page summaries. I substituted the full reports for review, when they became available on May 5, 2014.

    • Not yet having been able to secure the actuarial reports for the past 10 years, I contacted Joe Newton, the actuary from GabrielRoeder who prepares the City’s actuarial reports. On June 25th, Mr. Newton replied to my inquiry and stated that the contents of Mr. Cushman’s analysis was consistent with his own findings, and noted that many of the exhibits were mostly excerpts from those same reports (conversation summarized via e-mail).

As of the Council meeting on July 14, I understood that the information was no longer required, since the Budget Hearings had concluded.

Nonetheless, believing the data might be helpful in subsequent budget discussions and Union negotiations, I took the following steps:

    • Because Mr. Cushman’s analysis cited data from 2004 forward, and only the more recent actuarial reports are available on-line, I needed to collect all of the actuarial studies dated back to that time. Consequently, I requested the assistance of the appropriate administrative departments in retrieving those documents for each of the 4 pension plans – some 20 documents all told. I received the last of these on August 1, 2014.

    • Although encompassing a 10-year span, most of the healthcare information could be pulled from prior years’ budget documents, which were more readily available than the actuarial reports.

Based on my review of the data and discussions with the appropriate individuals, I can confirm that to the best of my knowledge, the Cushman analysis of the pension and healthcare liabilities is accurately stated.

Well Bob,it looks like you only understand part of what you read so I will put it here again for you to attempt to comprehend. Maybe Cushman can help you understand it: " I could reasonably surmise due to the extensive video footage and the amount of gas you use that you are collecting SSDI ..." I can reasonably surmise this by your lack of declaration of employment. Taxpayer dependent, that is the best you could come up with? With your history of name calling I thought it would be better. Let me know when you finally free yourself of Stacia and Cushman's leash. When that happens you MAY finally have an independent thought. Did your CAP Captain know of your flight?

    Bravo to you for posting.

I watch the related pages last night from about 7:30 p.m. until approximately 10:30 p.m.

OnnthwnWarwick Watch page alone inwatched the comments creep up to almost 1,000 comments supporting the outed teen and transgenser rights. There were probably five times as many likes on those comments. At 10:30 p.m., i saw 980 posts mysteriously disappear. She left only the 150 posts in support of the original post.

Today I have watched almost all day long as posts are continually added and deleted.

I have written to Huyler/Petri privately and in public to have almost everything vanish and to be blocked at every turn.

The vast majority of the replies to her post or well-thought-out polite and included actual facts as opposed to the vitrol that has been left behind.
