Culpo inks National Letter of Intent to play at Pittsburgh

Posted

Former Bishop Hendricken pitcher and Worcester Academy student Gus Culpo signed his National Letter of Intent last week to continue his baseball career at Pittsburgh University.

Culpo was part of a six-member Worcester Academy class that signed together.

“Gus is an example of where hard work can get you,” said Dana Forsberg, the head baseball at Worcester Academy. “Culpo missed all of his 2013 and most of the 2014 season due to Tommy John surgery. Gus’s dedication and determination put him back on the mound and with better stuff than he ever had. His fastball is now in the low 90’s and his off-speed stuff can be electric. It will be exciting to see what Gus can do now that he is 100-percent healthy.”
